Btw…this Jay Z discourse is why I don’t wanna hear that we need to stick together bullshit. Not only is Jay one of the greatest artists to ever live, he’s one of the few hip
hop acts to ever headline the Super Bowl. Whether you like him or not this

There will be a stretch where it won’t be rappers and ppl from our culture headlining that show and the same ppl who are talkin wild will be the same ppl crying foul. You can’t have it both ways.

“Fuck. The. Frail Shit” is not only one of the best opening lines to a song
It is (or at least should be) a daily affirmation!

My brother, you had Ayo Technology going up against I Wonder and Flashing Lights. You never stood a chance.
Why tf would any artist sign a 5 album deal for a $100k advance in 2026 when brand deals, bank loans & crowd funding exist?
Wake up. These people in these buildings do not know how to break your single. They take that marketing budget and go contract someone your age to execute the campaign. Might as well get rid of the middle man and own your art.

Kanye West is the comeback king. He survived a near fatal car accident before dropping College Dropout. He released his best album after the Taylor Swift VMA incident. And in the 20s he’s released no.1 albums and set stadium concert records despite a sea of controversies.

The problem is people who were never cool are determining what’s cool.
And that ain’t cool.

Hip-Hop comebacks have become rare because we’re a lot less forgiving today. Rap fans rooted for LL Cool J to bounce back in the 90s. But today’s toxic fan is more interested in mocking Roddy Ricch for pushing his album back than being open to him putting out good music.

This weird gender envy that’s going on where men are jealous of the perceived social benefits of being a woman and vice versa is very telling of why things are like this now lol

It always blows my mind that Nirvana’s Nevermind, A Tribe Called Quest’s The Low End Theory and Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Blood Sugar Sex Magik came out the same day. September 24, 1991.

He was repeatedly put on notice. OutKast was BEYOND patient with him, if you ask me. This went on for over a year before a lawsuit was ever filed.
The facts that people seem to leave out:
June 2025: He receives a cease-and-desist.
July 2025: He gives an interview where he himself acknowledges that people read Ovrkast as OutKast and confuse the two (I know his lawyer was pissed because this is literally the confusion at the center of the trademark dispute. He talks too much.)
Then the attorneys negotiate. According to the lawsuit, they reach terms for him to transition to OVERKXST. His own attorney later asks OutKast for MORE TIME, requesting a July 15, 2026 deadline.
OutKast agrees to the extension and sends the finalized agreement.
July 13: two days before that deadline, he comes back asking to use different names they ALREADY declined.
July 15 passes and he continues using OVRKAST.
OutKast STILL doesn’t immediately sue him. They send another notice on August 5 and give him until August 11 to comply.
According to the complaint, he doesn’t respond and continues using the name. The lawsuit isn’t filed until September 16.
It has now been a year+ of back and forth.
Then when the lawsuit becomes public, he wants to troll until he tweets: “I NEVER SIGNED any agreement. It was verbal…” He later deletes that post (again, he talks too much) and reposts his response without the part acknowledging the verbal agreement.
So no, this wasn’t OutKast randomly deciding to financially crush some “young” artist. There was a year of warnings, negotiations, an extension his side requested, another opportunity to comply, and continued use of the disputed name before they finally sued.
Now they’re asking the court for an injunction, profits tied to the alleged infringement, damages, legal fees and destruction of OVRKAST-branded materials.
He fucked around and found out. 🤷🏽♀️
Replying to @ChallzBrownLife
OutKast suing when they are already legendary rap group is what doesn’t sit right. Telling him to change his name is one thing but wanting all the proceeds from all his work is not it
