No more excuses.

We cannot get complacent. ANY candidate taking money from AIPAC must go!!! Dems included.
Hakeem and Chuck gotta go.
Democrats must be absolutely ruthless now.
No “healing the nation”. No “moving on”, no “reconciliation”, no “bridging the gaps”. No “if they go low, we go high”. No Obamism.
Subpoena, impeach, prosecute, imprison. Trumpism is criminal & should be treated as such.

he needs to keep getting in front of cameras and steering the party. just like this
Zohran Mamdani: “It’s not enough for us as Democrats to win power. We have to use that power to deliver change that Americans can feel in their wallets. When you look at these campaigns, if we want to speak about James Talarico, he campaigned on a vision for universal childcare. If you want to talk about Keisha Lance Bottoms, she campaigned on a vision of cutting red tape to build housing. If you want to talk about Jocelyn Benson, she campaigned on a moratorium for data centers. What I’m excited to see now is a recognition that the work is only just starting and this has to be delivered for working people across the country”

I totally support cancelling student loan debt for 45 million students because they canceled trillions in taxes for billionaires.

Florida. Mississippi. Louisiana. They could’ve all gone blue with enough investment.

Trump will remain President, but what he CANNOT do now:
Cannot approve any laws:
He needs Congress. With Democrats at 90, all his legislative proposals will be blocked.
2. Cannot secure funding:
Congress controls the budget. No financing for his MAGA projects, the Wall, etc.
3. Faces the risk of impeachment: Democrats can launch investigations and even proceed with impeachment.
4. Cannot appoint judges/officials freely: The Senate will block his choices.
5. Cannot conclude major foreign deals:
Trade agreements, war funding require Congress's approval.
In short: He will remain in the White House, sign executive orders, but Congress and Courts can overturn them. President in name, powerless in reality.

Reminder that MLK’s movement was not as long ago as people will make you believe. His granddaughter just turned 18 this year.
Martin Luther King Jr.'s granddaughter voted for the first time yesterday in Georgia.

Wait, let me make sure I've got this right. NYC Mayor Mamdani taxed wealthy people on second homes they don't live in, the city's budget got balanced, the rich are still rich, and ordinary New Yorkers didn't get hit with a broad tax increase? That's really all it took?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
NYC FY2027 budget balance used agency savings, $4B+ state aid/authorizations (incl. pension restructuring saving $1.64B), and $500M projected from pied-à-terre tax on luxury second homes—not primarily that tax.
