Kenya’s economic momentum is gaining ground, with growth reaching 5.1% in the second quarter of 2026. From farms and factories to construction sites and digital enterprises, productive sectors are contributing to an economy built on production, enterprise and opportunity.
Agriculture, forestry and fishing grew by 3.5%, construction expanded by 6.0%, and information and communication recorded 7.2% growth. These sectors reflect key areas of focus under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which prioritises expanding production, supporting businesses and creating pathways to sustainable livelihoods.
The progress is also reflected in production figures: tea output reached 162,600 metric tons, coffee exports totalled 22,046.4 metric tons, sugar production stood at 211,800 metric tons, and cement production reached 2.73 million metric tons. Meanwhile, transport and storage grew by 4.4%, supporting the movement of goods and connecting producers to markets.
As Kenya advances its development agenda, agriculture, MSMEs, housing, healthcare, and the Digital Superhighway and Creative Economy remain important pillars for expanding economic participation. Sustaining this momentum will require continued investment in productive capacity, enterprise growth, infrastructure and job creation, ensuring economic progress translates into meaningful opportunities for more Kenyans.

Renewed my driver’s license today and I’m genuinely amazed! Took exactly 10 minutes. No endless queues, no bribes, and everything is completely digitized.
Kenya, we have truly come from far, and we are heading in the right direction!

When they called Ruto Kasongo, you cheered them. When it's your time to be called SPONYO. You cry.
When you claim the president is THIEF of an election, you see it Good, WHEN you are called DRUNKARD, you cry.
Which one is a better wrong or a better insult than another?
Is SPOnyo painful and Kasongo sweet?

Let’s be honest with ourselves: you can criticize President Ruto on many things, but you cannot take away his credit for the Rironi–Mau Summit Highway. Even if you are determined to oppose him, this is one he has delivered.
I remember how leaders from Nakuru, especially Susan Kihika and David Gikaria, fought relentlessly for this road.
They pushed the issue hard, even when the Uhuru administration appeared to treat their demands as a nuisance. They were frustrated and sidelined, but they never gave up.
Their persistence kept the project alive until Ruto took over.
The goodness? Ruto listens, tells you when it is impossible and when it is possible.

Yaani this project was planned and budgeted for 18 years ago and the money was being chewed like Khat.
It only took President Ruto to finally build it.

@edwinsifuna, Stop Exploiting Kenyans!
Dear Kenyans, don’t fall for Sifuna’s political scheme.
Asking ordinary Kenyans, egg vendors, grocery sellers, mama mbogas and other small traders struggling to make even KSh 500 a day to contribute their hard-earned coins to politicians is not a good gesture.
How can a leader earning millions of shillings every year turn to struggling hustlers for financial contributions?
To the common Mwananchi, every coin matters. They wake up early, work tirelessly and fight to put food on the table.
This is not empowerment. It is unfair exploitation of ordinary Kenyans for political gain.
Kenyans must remain vigilant and never allow political greed to take advantage of their struggles.
