I’ve always loved the mutual admiration between LA & Atlanta musicians. The chemistry is always crazy.
Tyler says he loves atl & it's his second home 🥺 🫂 this album inspired by southern rap #Chromakopia

Folks cheering on people getting laid off under the guise of not helping enough artists. The reality of it is 90% of yall shouldn’t be artists anyway so no, their help wasn’t coming your way because you’re not that nice at your craft or even marketable.

i think the saddest part of these layoffs is that people assume everyone working at a record label is some corporate villain. a lot of these people genuinely love music and spend their time helping artists build careers. but the music market is changing, companies are under pressure to operate efficiently, and management teams make decisions about where to cut costs and where to invest. schumpeter’s creative destruction theory actually talks about how industries change when old business models are disrupted by new ones. unfortunately, the people caught in the middle are real people with bills, families and careers. and for some artists, the person who just lost their job was the only person inside that company consistently fighting for them.
Another round of layoffs started at UMG today. Artists and their fans often blame labels for everything, but many of the people working in these buildings to support artists care deeply about the work. Some artists may have just lost their only advocate at the company.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but the “music execs” who are on live all day in front of nondescript plaques are scamming you.

The black executive in music is getting removed and replace systematically. Black women are the first to go in these industry lay offs. Which is the biggest mistake. Black women is where everything dope in the culture comes from. They are the culture. Smh

I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.
I’ll take @ellalangleymsic over Kacey Musgraves any day. And if I’m choosin’ Texas, I’ll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico.

Easily the funniest part about this quote is Aaron Judge acting like he knows what it takes to win a World Series 😭
After the Yankees were eliminated on Wednesday night, Aaron Judge made a strong statement about Anthony Volpe: “If we’re going to go win a World Series, we need Anthony Volpe on the team.” (via @DeeshaThosar)
