Got told this morning by a P4 recruiting coordinator “The velo guys are doing ok, the guys with a change/split they can show for strikes- even if it’s average- are outperforming the top velo guys in productivity” Sharing so yall realize good hitters can piss all over 95 if there is nothing to go with it Sliders and curves that are above avg or elite help a ton don’t get it twisted, but basically they sit fastball unless they get 2 strikes I’ve now had over a dozen recruiting coordinators tell me the same thing about changeups - use this info how you wish I’m spoon feeding yall the answer here

The Wild opening tonight would be so sick if Fabes didn’t fracture his skull, Quinn had re-signed, and half of the fanbase could watch lol

Back in April, I asked Fedde what he could hit on the gun in game seven of the World Series. He said 98. He just hit 98 closing out the Wild Card series. Fastest pitch of his career at age 33 in his postseason debut. Dawg.

Justin Verlander reveals the game that convinced him to stop throwing as hard as he could “The whole knock on me early in my career was that I threw too many pitches. I’d throw 120 pitches, but I was only going six innings.” “I had a game in Boston where we really needed me to get deep in the game. Our bullpen was shot. I go out the first couple innings, and I look up and I’ve got sixty-something pitches.” “To me, the most important thing for that game was to chew innings. I was like, ‘I can’t keep this pace.’ So I ended up slowing myself down. I was throwing fastballs at 89. I threw a changeup in that game at 91 and threw a fastball at 89 in the same game.” “I just pulled the throttle way back. I was like, ‘Man, here, hit it. Put it in play.’ All of a sudden, I was like, ‘Man, I am really able to hit my spot.’” “I basically took that mentality and flipped it going into the next season. Let me try starting games like this and then building up as I go. If I get in trouble, I’ve always got it in my back pocket.” “I always viewed it from the hitter’s perspective as you’re facing three different pitchers in three different at-bats, and they’re progressively getting harder to hit.”

They fined Kyle Juszczyk 14K for pretending to drink “beer” But $0 for Tyrique Stevenson’s helmet spear on Aaron Jones. This is why Roger Goodell gets booed.
NFL fined 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk $14,926 for engaging in an offensive demonstration Sunday vs. Miami. “Your imitation of chugging a beer constituted an offensive demonstration and could reasonably be construed as being in poor taste,” the NFL wrote in its fine letter. Juszczyk, nicknamed “Juice”, already has appealed the fine.
