I've said this before and I'll say it again: @alexismadrigal and @kissane are among the best humans I've ever, ever met. To have worked with them on this project has been the highlight of my career and one of my greatest joys.

Our newest piece from @pandemictrack and @PPI_Insights. @lshultz82 @megan_b_diamond Awesome viz by @NotoriousRSG and @jonagilmour
1/ Lab-based PCR testing has been the bedrock of COVID-19 data. Now more people are testing at home, if they’re testing at all, so we lose sight of individual-level clinical data. Wastewater surveillance (WWS) can help plug the gaps, if it’s done right. rockefellerfoundation.org/ca…

I always thought Snyder was the kind of guy that would pour milk into the carpets of his enemies. 🥛
Still working through the hundreds of pages but it’s going to be hard to beat the Sour Milk Story. This is from David Pauken’s testimony.
Every day there seems to be a new headline about how well vaccines work (or don’t work), but what exactly do they mean? Tightly controlled vaccine trials measure efficacy. In real life, vaccine effectiveness is more complicated. 1/7 rockefellerfoundation.org/ca…

Data weirdness??? No way! 😱 Check out the latest in COVID data that requires more explanation from the states.
Lately, we’ve noticed a strange pattern with breakthrough data—case rates in boosted populations are sometimes higher than case rates in vaccinated (but not boosted) populations. We haven’t seen this trend get the attention it deserves. 🧵👇 1/17

Another great @PPI_Insights @pandemictrack collab full of insight on a misunderstood but constantly discussed topic. 👏👏👏@lshultz82 @karaschechtman @anthropoco @jjhoutman @NotoriousRSG @jonagilmour @lwolansk @KaitEJohnson9 @jessicamalaty @MashaHamilton @RickABright👏👏👏

Rates are more useful than raw case counts because they take the size of the relevant population at a given time period into account, letting us evaluate risk levels and see changes over time more accurately. 2/12

Our latest piece for @RockefellerFdn, @PPI_Insights and @pandemictrack, an explainer about the genetic diversity of SARS-CoV-2. With @lshultz82 @anthropoco @jonagilmour @jessicamalaty @svscarpino @RickABright
1/ SARS-CoV-2, like all viruses, continues to evolve as it circulates through a population. The more chances it has to replicate, the more chances it has to mutate, resulting in more genetic variation. How do we sort it all out?rockefellerfoundation.org/ca…

ICYMI: Our new report on the power of wastewater surveillance featuring some amazing partners here:
Replying to @CDCgov
@CDCgov’s new data tracker, and recent media reports, have generated a lot of buzz around wastewater surveillance. Wastewater data can fill critical gaps in global surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 independently of health systems. 1/9
