She didn’t just die.
She bled out alone.
On American soil.
While people looked… and did nothing.
That’s not just a failed system.
That’s a failed culture.
And we either turn this around
or we lose everything.

Fun With Numbers... New Mexico Lobos Edition #GoLobos
- No matter how you slice and dice the data, the result is the same. The lack of investment, institutional support, and choices made by UNM's Administration over the last 11 years is the root cause of Lobos slide to irrelevance.
- UNM's Leadership has made the decision to NOT fund UNM Athletics and in fact has rolled back UNM Athletic Funding by 22% during the current President's tenure only recently returning to 2014 Funding Levels.
- If UNM allocated the MWC average of 10% of their academic budget, UNM would have an Athletic Budget of $110M annually, which would put them at Big10 and SEC funding levels.
- UNM current situation is by CHOICE, not by any other factor. UNM has chosen not to prioritize athletics as compared to P4 and MWC schools. FULL STOP!!!
- Want Real Change? Contact Lovo, Loboclub, President Stokes Office, Regents, and your NM State Representatives and DEMAND they prioritize UNM Athletics by increasing the institutional support of your Lobos!!!

How does Mississippi eliminate income tax, buy New Mexico which is flush with oil revenue doesn't???
We did it, Mississippi! We just eliminated the income tax!
Today is a day that will be remembered — not just for the headlines, not just for the politics, but for the profound, generational change it represents.
Today, I was proud to sign into law a complete elimination of the individual income tax in the state of Mississippi. Let me say that again: Mississippi will no longer tax the work, the earnings, or the ambition of its people.
This is more than a policy victory. This is a transformation. And it’s a transformation that I have believed in, fought for, and worked toward for many years. From my days as lieutenant governor to my first campaign for this office — and every legislative session since — I have made this my mission.
Because I believe in a simple idea: that government should take less so that you can keep more. That our people should be rewarded for hard work, not punished. And that Mississippi has the potential to be a magnet for opportunity, for investment, for talent — and for families looking to build a better life.
The legislation I signed puts us in a rare class of elite, competitive states. There are only a handful of states in the country that do not tax income. Today, Mississippi joins their ranks — and in doing so, we plant our flag.
We are saying to job creators across America: if you want to build, come to Mississippi.
We are saying to families across the South: if you want to grow, come to Mississippi.
We are saying to entrepreneurs, to workers, to dreamers: Mississippi is open for business — and we won’t penalize your success.
We are going to compete — and we’re going to win.
Now, I want to be clear: this didn’t happen overnight. And it didn’t happen alone. This day is the result of years of work by dedicated leaders who shared the vision and had the courage to act.
I want to thank Speaker Jason White and Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hosemann. I want to give special thanks to Speaker White because he worked his tail off to get this done. I also want to thank House Ways and Means Chairman Trey Lamar and all the members of the House and Senate who rolled up their sleeves and got this done. We debated. We negotiated. We stayed focused on the goal. And we got it across the finish line — together.
To the people of Mississippi: you are the real winners today. This law means more money in your pocket. It means more jobs in your town. It means a future with more opportunity for your children and grandchildren.
The work of your hands belongs to you. It is yours — to feed your family and invest in your home and your community.
Because that’s what this is ultimately about. Not just numbers on a balance sheet, but lives. Generations from now, when our kids are raising families of their own in a stronger, more prosperous Mississippi, they will look back on this moment and say: this is when we took our shot.
This is when we bet on ourselves. This is when we really broke from the pack. This is when we took bold action — and it paid off.
There are moments in a state’s history that mark a turning point. A moment where the past gives way to the future. Where we rise above the old ways of doing things — and chart a bold new course… this is one of those moments.
The elimination of the income tax is not just a win for our economy. It’s a win for freedom. A win for families. A win for the idea that Mississippi can lead — that we will lead — in the century to come.
And I believe with all my heart that we will look back on this day as a turning point, a generational victory, and a proud legacy we leave for those who come after us.

Note Needed: Please read the sources in proposed notes before using CNs to argue. The legislation passed reduces income tax to 3% by 2030, after which point the state’s economic need will be evaluated. By no definition does this legislation completely eliminate income tax t.co/stovBgUoKj

What's sad is that these two programs used to be somewhat equal. In the last 15 years we've seen BYU Utah TCU all move on to great large conference success. Now we have even been ditched by previously inferior mountain West schools. Bleak future for UNM. A school that was once on the rise under Rocky Long Dave Bliss and Steve Alford.
BREAKING: Xavier is set to hire New Mexico's Richard Pitino as its next head coach, @JonRothstein reports.

New Mexico is basically having to turn over their entire program with the promise of playing in a significantly worse conference in two years.
They have solid NIL but thats a TOUGH spot to be in

Vamos, @RafaelNadal!
As you get ready to graduate from tennis, I’ve got a few things to share before I maybe get emotional.
Let’s start with the obvious: you beat me—a lot. More than I managed to beat you. You challenged me in ways no one else could. On clay, it felt like I was stepping into your backyard, and you made me work harder than I ever thought I could just to hold my ground. You made me reimagine my game—even going so far as to change the size of my racquet head, hoping for any edge.
I’m not a very superstitious person, but you took it to the next level. Your whole process. All those rituals. Assembling your water bottles like toy soldiers in formation, fixing your hair, adjusting your underwear... All of it with the highest intensity. Secretly, I kind of loved the whole thing. Because it was so unique—it was so you.
And you know what, Rafa, you made me enjoy the game even more.
OK, maybe not at first. After the 2004 Australian Open, I achieved the #1 ranking for the first time. I thought I was on top of the world. And I was—until two months later, when you walked on the court in Miami in your red sleeveless shirt, showing off those biceps, and you beat me convincingly. All that buzz I’d been hearing about you—about this amazing young player from Mallorca, a generational talent, probably going to win a major someday—it wasn’t just hype.
We were both at the start of our journey and it’s one we ended up taking together. Twenty years later, Rafa, I have to say: What an incredible run you’ve had. Including 14 French Opens—historic! You made Spain proud... you made the whole tennis world proud.
I keep thinking about the memories we’ve shared. Promoting the sport together. Playing that match on half-grass, half-clay. Breaking the all-time attendance record by playing in front of more than 50,000 fans in Cape Town, South Africa. Always cracking each other up. Wearing each other out on the court and then, sometimes, almost literally having to hold each other up during trophy ceremonies.
I’m still grateful you invited me to Mallorca to help launch the Rafa Nadal Academy in 2016. Actually, I kind of invited myself. I knew you were too polite to insist on me being there, but I didn’t want to miss it. You have always been a role model for kids around the world, and Mirka and I are so glad that our children have all trained at your academies. They had a blast and learned so much—like thousands of other young players. Although I always worried my kids would come home playing tennis as lefties.
And then there was London—the Laver Cup in 2022. My final match. It meant everything to me that you were there by my side—not as my rival but as my doubles partner. Sharing the court with you that night, and sharing those tears, will forever be one of the most special moments of my career.
Rafa, I know you’re focused on the last stretch of your epic career. We will talk when it’s done. For now, I just want to congratulate your family and team, who all played a massive role in your success. And I want you to know that your old friend is always cheering for you, and will be cheering just as loud for everything you do next.
Rafa that!
Best always, your fan,
Roger

Everyone stop the tweeting at our AD. The leadership in the athletic dept isn’t stupid, they’d give everyone a raise to retain them if they could. If you want to channel your energy somewhere productive, reach out to your respective state reps and senators and encourage them to approve a $7/7 athletics success appropriation for both UNM & NMSU. That is $7 mil per year for 7 years.
The state is flush with cash, and quite literally can’t spend it all. This would move the needle huge, free up donor funding to go to NIL, and is like .5% of the “new money” the state got from oil and gas this year.
Athletics success is like tourism investment: it drives GRT rev, improves enrollment, gets NM free advertising on a national scale, and fosters pride for our state.

just going to say it. I don’t care about the rest of the MWC this year. Lobos were the most disrespected team that had to win the MWC to get in, and they said we stole a bid. I can’t wait for the Lobos to show the world, we did not steal anything; we earned it the hard way❤️🐺🏀
