kinda miss social media in 2012 where the concept of an influencer didn’t exist and everyone was using instagram’s premade filters and posting pictures of random shit like a handful of skittles or an overexposed sunset those were the days

calling romance novels “porn for women” isn’t literary criticism. it’s just shaming women for reading stories that center their desires, pleasure, boundaries, and emotional fulfillment

I’m trying to be optimistic. It WOULD be nice to find a guy to share my life with someday. But if the kind of love that a lot of men on here are describing what marriage should be like ever finds me, I would truly rather soak my asshole in a bucket of Nair before I ever let a man treat me like that.

Picture a man who ignores his partner's tears, dismisses her concerns, and treats every serious conversation like an inconvenience. Then she stops explaining, stops asking, and starts emotionally leaving while still sitting beside him. He calls it sudden. He noticed the funeral only when he realized he had been the one killing the relationship.

I arrived in the UK in October and five months later, just after getting a new job, I received a letter from UKVI saying my visa had been curtailed and I had 60 days to leave the country. Anxiety set in. I looked stressed, drained and completely lost. 💔 I eventually found another CoS after spending a total of £10k. I submitted my application and eight months later, while I was still trying to recover from months of unemployment, I received another letter in November the following year, that the new COS I jsut found has also been curtailed and that gives me another 60 days to leave the country.. so in the space of two years.. I got the 60 days notice to leave the country.. It’s been years, but that first 60-day notice messed me up mentally, physically and emotionally. I kept fighting, trying to find my feet again, only for a lawyer to mess up the visa route I eventually found. Mind you, this man collected a whole £2k from me. Until some of these Nigerian immigration lawyers start facing consequences for their actions, they will continue to mishandle people’s applications and damage their immigration histories without taking responsibility. Abroad is not as rosy as you might think. Some people get settled within a year while it takes others several years to find their feet. 😔 In all, don’t give up. You must see the light at the end of the tunnel. 🤲

South African politicians who use xenophobia to campaign while offering no clear policies on jobs, crime, housing, electricity or the cost of living must be questioned. Blaming foreigners is not a development plan. Slogans and scapegoating will not fix failing services, create jobs or put food on people’s tables. South Africans deserve leaders who present solutions, measurable targets and accountability not politicians who turn African brothers and sisters into campaign tools while avoiding the hard questions. A country cannot build its future on scapegoating. Where are the policies?

The older you get, the more you realize luck ain't really luck. It's about exposure. You can't keep posted in the same spot, running the same routine, kicking it with the same people, and expect new blessings to pull up. Sometimes you gotta switch the scenery.

the wisest thing a woman can do for her nervous system is remember that she is a princess of the universe and relax, and never worry again because she knows in her bones that everything that matters to her always gets taken care of by divine forces.

You still have time. Time to change your wardrobe. Time to get divorced and married again. Time to change majors. Time to learn a trade from scratch. Time to pay off debts. Time to travel. Time to love and be loved. You still have your whole life ahead. Whether you're 19 or 66. You still have so much time. But you have to take it.
