I feel like I can’t move through content at the pace I want. So either I’m better because I’m more aware of my students or lost some skill somewhere! Lol

I don’t think this needs convincing this is already known (at least in political data). It is rural vs urban, and coastal vs interior. But we are fooled into believing political parties are the lines.

I loved it!! Probably going to read the books this summer now! It had a great level of fantasy while still feeling believable. The types of magic where also novel and connected to humanity not just nature. I’m looking forward to more.

.@stacyyung introduced me to @wakelet & I am using it to curate resources about Asian & Asian American experiences with racism & #antiracism. What other resources should I add? Antiracism denounces ALL forms of racial discrimination & hate. #StopAsianHate wke.lt/w/s/IZHiI4

Join teachers nationwide from 2/14-2/21 with “I Love Teaching” week, a concept piloted by state teachers of the year and now in it’s 5th year. After all we’ve accomplished during this crazy year, let’s engage in activities that remind us why we’re teachers!!

That is so awesome that you get to do that with teaching candidates. They are so lucky to learn from you and @stacyyung

Is that all of the students you have to grade or only 2/5 of your classes? If I had to do 130 narrative grades... 🤔

A7: Remix. Having a combination of options depending on the meeting. Keep site meetings in person, but sometimes it is great to meet with colleagues in my district over video. We need to talk for 30 minutes and to get to one another it takes just as long. #caedchat
Would be a curious thing to have a literal teacher retreat at a camp. There is a different sensation of comradery and conversation when you eat and sleep and attend workshops together non stop. #caedchat

I also think the online option might allow for shorter connection times so “lab” time can happen in between and then reporting back on experiences and refinement. It might allow for a different experience than most PDs in the past. #caedchat

A6: Attended a #cangss rollout training on text strands It was amazing but purely online. Looses a lot of the social connection and learning by just meeting other teachers. However I met teachers from across the state which I normally couldn’t do in person. Have both!! #caedchat

In my experience it is the sense of having a roadmap for improvement and the increased feedback and hope for growth and improvement students feel, that has made #sbl or #sbg effective. Not just the format of my grading system. #caedchat

I think all those things are critical but the ability for a student to grow in all the listed skills will start with feedback on a task. #caedchat

A3: If scrutinizing grading leads to revision of assessment systems then yes. Is assessment for learning and not just evaluating a S? Does assessment happen w/Ss or to Ss? Are we teaching Ss to seek feedback and revision or final scores? #caedchat

Even when we return to the classroom don’t think of Async as HW only but also technology leveraged learning that frees the T for small group instruction or remediation. Students work Asynch frequently, just now we can rethink how that lets us do more. #caedchat
