AU, Aventurine is one of the captains of the opposing army, who gets taken prisoner by the enemy. There he meets Sunday — a captive from a conquered planet, who lives in the enemy camp as their "songbird," since the soldiers enjoy listening to him sing.

Aventurine falls in love with those songs and their performer. After his liberation, Aventurine takes Sunday with him and proposes marriage to him.
