My daughter decided she wanted to be Darth Vader for Halloween, so my son said he would be Luke. Iβm unpacking the boots I bought for his costume and this tweet is all I can think about

i was about to freak out and then read βtagged and releasedβ - good. that is clearly an ancient river deity and should remain to guard its domain
A St Louis woman has caught a recording breaking fish in British Columbia.
It's an 11 ft. 4 in. white sturgeon.
It's officially the largest freshwater fish ever caught by a female angler at 1,200 pounds.
The fish was tagged and released.
Hear Katharine Eckert tell The Chris & Amy show all about this wild experience!

I did not and would never consent to this administration running my fanart through AI and posting it. Canβt even believe Iβm saying these words.

Comictwt who are lamenting ao3, y'all should hop on cfaarchive.org :3
CFAA is basically an ao3 for comic fanworks specifically.
It's invite-only for an account, but you can read public works without an acc π€«

Dude who caused the DRAM shortage is now scolding people for hoarding memory inside their own laptops instead of giving it all to him.
sam: local inference is a terrible allocation of scarce resources
βa lot of people want local inference, and somehow they assume that the problem is solved now because we have open-source models, we're going to be able to run them on our computers, and so we're not going to need all the stuff in the data centre
but from a global allocation perspective, actually it's quite terrible to have everybody, like, have a bunch of the world's limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer and being used five percent of the time
you want maximum utilisation in the cloud if you're trying to deal with this very supply-constrained environment
somehow many people's intuition is the opposite of thatβ
