I found the fungi… 🍄
Hard to believe they still look better than new books, 200 yrs later.

Still coughing after TB treatment?
It could be CPA, and not a relapse, especially if Gene Xpert is negative.
But most are never screened.
We can do better.

This was a great conversation about the @WHO report on the pipelines for fungal treatments and diagnostics (despite the intimidating studio lights!) 📺 🍿 - enjoy.
Thanks @valeria_gigante @KanjSouha @ESCMID & Sharon Chen

Our first @seacsydney national Vietnamese mycology workshop, back in 2019.
We have repeated it three times - each bigger and better than the last and it’s been fantastic to see the growth and development in Vietnamese mycology 🍄 🥰
Gorgeous night @ArtGalleryofNSW for the Archie.
Loved this painting… can’t wait to hear the winner.

🦠 Our new paper highlights cost and access barriers to antifungals in Vietnam.
Annual drug costs for major IFIs are $209.1M, so it’s vital to get these right.

#ESCMIDGlobal2025 has been great for catching up with old and new colleagues.
Thanks @Sydney_ID for the networking event tonight, at a proper little Vienna bar.

What next from Vienna #ESCMIDGlobal?
If this isn’t the place for a glass of grüner and some apfelstrudel, nowhere is.
Out and about dodging jet lag in Vienna. Looking forward to #ESCMIDGlobal

Fungal infections: The hidden threat 🦠
Serious fungal infections are often misdiagnosed or never diagnosed at all—and here’s why:
🔬 Tests require sometimes invasive procedures & advanced labs
👩⚕️ Only highly trained professionals can carry them out
🚑 Many local health workers aren’t trained to recognize them
For millions, especially in low- and middle-income countries, this means never knowing why they’re so sick—and missing the chance for the right treatment.
It's time to improve access to diagnostics and train health workers to spot the signs!
