It's been about a little over a month since I dropped Current Gone.

Lmaooo I’ve learnt from TikTok that they are not for us. I’ve seen someone buy upward to 4 as an Airbnb. They did a whole series. And yes you can guess what color are they

In 1911, Bahamian and Canadian lawmakers were in serious negotiations over The Bahamas being annexed by Canada, and becoming an overseas province of Canada.
It was ultimately rejected because many Canadian lawmakers, especially Albertans, didn’t want a majority Black province.

They have a giant crab statue, though. The government made sure that Andros was given a giant crab statue.
Bridge mash up. Roads dig up. No bank. No fire truck. No ambulance. But Andros have a giant crab statue and a track.

Government taxes on a necessity that is not locally produced should not be 32.5%.
I think we also need to have stipulations for the margins of dealers and wholesalers if the wholesaler also profits from the dealers’ sales (I’m talking about FOCOL/Shell).

The Bahamas is undeniably a majority black country. The Bahamas has been undeniably a
majority black place since the Loyalists arrived from the United States in the late 1700s and 1800s.
Our culture, however, was not only influenced by that black majority.

Straw plaiting is an intrinsic part of Bahamian cultural identity.
That is West African, brought with enslaved people. However, what made it so unique in The Bahamas is the heavy influence of indigenous people: the Seminoles from Florida who migrated to The Bahamas in the 1800s.

Plaiting the maypole is something done at almost every Bahamian homecoming and regatta or any other cultural festival. We get that from the Brits.
While many bake guava duff today, we all know the traditional method is boiling. It’s a boiled dough pudding we got from the Brits.

To suggest that there’s no white influence in Bahamian culture or history is ahistorical, and it’s ahistorical because of how contemporary history is told.
Contemporary Bahamian history focuses on the transfer of white rule to black rule, fight for independence and equality.

Bahamian culture is a creolised culture. It’s not a ‘Creole culture’ in the traditional sense like that of Dominica, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Louisiana, et al.
However, Bahamian culture is creolised in the sense that it is a mixture of African, Colonial South, and English culture.

Everyone’s like “what a healthy relationship “ . Bro this is a man’s nightmare lmao . That’s why he hung his head like that. There is nothing, not one singular thing he can do to stop her from feeling that way , and there is nothing healthy about her feelings . Lose lose
