In American aviation history, twenty-eight teams of professional airline pilots were put inside a flight simulator and given the exact failure that hit United Airlines Flight 232 over Iowa on July 19, 1989.
All twenty-eight simulator crews crashed before ever reaching a runway.
Yet in the real sky, former U.S. Marine Corps pilot Captain Al Haynes and off-duty training captain Denny Fitch kept that crippled airplane in the air for forty-one minutes and saved 184 human beings.
At 37,000 feet, the tail-mounted engine of their DC-10 airliner exploded, spraying titanium shrapnel that severed all three hydraulic lines at once.
Why did the pilots not simply glide the plane down and lower the flaps? Because without hydraulic fluid, the control columns and pedals were completely dead. The rudder, elevators, ailerons, and wing flaps were frozen solid while the 150-ton jet began rolling into a deadly spiral.
Sitting back in the passenger cabin was off-duty Captain Denny Fitch. He walked up to the cockpit and asked how he could help.
Kneeling on the floor between the two pilot seats, Fitch grabbed the left wing engine throttle in his left hand and the right wing engine throttle in his right hand.
For forty-one grueling minutes, while Captain Haynes and First Officer William Records fought the dead yoke, Fitch steered a 150-ton airliner at 245 miles per hour purely by shoving the left and right engine throttles forward and back by hand to lift the wings and line up with Sioux City Airport.
Even as the plane slewed onto the concrete runway at four times normal descent speed, the grace of God and American readiness met them on the ground: the crash happened right at 4:00 PM hospital shift change, and the entire 185th Fighter Group of the Iowa Air National Guard was already sprinting onto the tarmac to pull 184 survivors from the wreckage.
When the machines break and the textbooks say you are dead, never bet against American airmen on their knees refusing to let go of the throttles.

What the coach says will happen if you train without breakfast:
- You'll be weak
- You'll feel faint on the first set
- Your body will eat your muscle
- Your metabolism will slow down
- Your blood sugar will crash
- Your lifts will go backwards
- You'll binge later
What actually happens:
- Yesterday's dinner is still sitting in your muscles as glycogen
- Your liver tops up your blood sugar without being asked
- Your body burns more fat for fuel
- Growth hormone climbs while you haven't eaten
- Your muscle stays exactly where it was overnight
- The bar weighs what it always weighed
- No mid-morning slump, because there was no cereal to slump from
- You eat afterwards, properly hungry, and the steak tastes better than it has any right to
Generations of farm workers did the milking, mucked out and walked the stock before they sat down to eat, and nobody called it a protocol.
The only thing that crashes when you skip breakfast is the cereal aisle.

I watched The Roast last night, Season 6 Episode 3, a very big show, tremendous ratings, maybe the biggest. And what they did to the MAC 10 at the end of the night, the LAST BUILD, they save the best for last, everybody knows that, was frankly SHOCKING. Many people are saying it. People are calling me, crying, big strong gunsmiths with tears in their eyes, saying "Sir, how could they do this to the Mac?"
DB Firearms, very talented guy, I like him, gets up there and says it's a gun you build "100% for the vibes and not the performance." Then he says Macs "freaking suck." SUCK! The MAC 10! An American classic! Then he admits, and I'm quoting here, "I have one that I shoot suppressed." So he OWNS ONE. He shoots it. He loves it. But on TV he has to be tough. We see right through it, DB. We see right through it!
Then someone, I won't say who, says the stock looks like a third grader drew it and the teacher said "Wow Billy, this is great, let's 3D print this." Very nasty. But also, a little bit funny, I'll admit it.
Meanwhile, and the fake gun news won't tell you this, Print Shoot Repeat made an ENTIRE VIDEO about the Big Mac, "The MAC-10 Has Evolved," and he said it's "quite the capable little PDW." He was ringing steel at 90 yards, 100 yards, "precision shooting with the Big Mac," with a Picatinny rail that the original Macs NEVER had. Closed bolt, 45 ACP, a "big old chunky boy." He called it "the Gucci value meal." His words, not mine, but great words! He said "this is so stupid but it's amazing," which is the highest compliment in the history of firearms, maybe ever.
Toting Big Macs, no Ronald McDonald. Nobody had ever made a 45 ACP Mac frame before, and now everybody wants one. The vibes are UNDEFEATED, the reciprocating mass is HUGE, and frankly that's what we like.
The Mac 10 has done more for this country than most people know. The Mac haters will not win. We are going to MAKE MACS GREAT AGAIN, and they're going to be printed in orange, and we are going to have so much fun shooting them you'll get tired of fun.
I'm calling on the whole panel, @p80ralph, @arthurclaudeen, @DLDafterDark, @nopel_0, and the great @printingguns, who KNOWS what the Big Mac can do, to come together and do the right thing: RESPECT THE MAC!
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

As a black man who was a liberal way back when, I’ve discovered two things:
Conservatives will hate your opinion. It really won’t go beyond that. If you’re black, your race won’t be much of a factor for them.
Liberals will hate your opinion, you, your family, and will try to ruin you if they can. If you’re black, racism will be allowed against you. Black liberals will give the nod to white liberals, who will then unleash every racist tirade they’ve been saving up until this moment. It’s like a limp-twisted purge for them.
I’m not wrong.
