Millenials, I love you. I love us. At the risk of sounding totally cringe, I fucking love us. We’re cynics and cycle-breakers. Deeply traumatized and deeply unserious. Clear-eyed and resilient and pragmatic. We’re survivors. We were handed so much hope and so much despair almost simultaneously, and we have become who we needed when we were young.
If anyone can save us, it’s us. 🩵💙
My unpopular opinion is that media has jumped on this story because it touched on women's reproduction, and it's giving misogyny.
Because:
1. Not a single person has been interviewed
2. All women collectively reacted with "WTF"
Compare this stort to the blue pills story.
Kenyan pharmacists have warned against inserting allergy tablets into the vagina after TikTok posts claimed they could make it "tighter".
Experts say the practice can cause injury and does not strengthen vaginal muscles. bbc.in/4iIz4lR

the vitriol directed at this post is a useful reminder of why we abandoned frontier justice in favour of modern judicial systems.
you could get lynched by emotionally volatile imbeciles with reading skills of aborted foetuses 🤣

Wonderful news: Murera has given birth to a baby girl this morning! Her daughter entered the world bathed in the light of a near-full moon, perfect in every way. We’ve named her Mwezi, which means moon in Swahili.
Murera chose to give birth in her stockade, the place that has been her nighttime sanctuary all these years. Her delivery couldn’t have been more seamless – in fact, by the time the Keepers heard the rumbles and rushed to her side, it was all over! Mother and baby are doing very well, while Mwana is already proving to be an excellent and attentive big sister.
More to come, but we're filled with joy and wanted to share Mwezi’s first moments with you. (Word is already out amongst the elephants – this morning, every wild-living Umani orphan showed up to meet the newest member of their family!)
Congratulations to our extraordinary Murera: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/o…

Thank you all of you; thank you for allowing me to practice my journalism as fearlessly as possible. I will miss all of you terribly. I’ll leave it at that before I go viral for crying on TV🥹😭, which wouldn’t be a bad thing after all – @YvonneOkwara's final words as she signs off from Citizen TV
We wish you all the very best in your next endeavours!

A giant of the Mara has fallen.
Fred, an iconic Mara Tusker, was found dead today of natural causes. Well into his fifth decade, Fred served as a symbol of the success @KWSKenya and Mara Elephant Project achieved in combatting ivory poaching over the last 15 years.
Fred’s counterparts didn’t live to see old age. How lucky we are that he did.
Collared since 2013, his tracking informed an approach that other Tuskers across Kenya benefited from. Even in death, Fred is the emblem for the Maasai Mara’s magic; thriving despite the challenges and contributing to a brighter future.
He will be missed, but what a life well lived.
We will be remembering Fred in the coming days. Stay tuned for more opportunities to join us in celebrating the life of this gentle giant.

The same way you don't want to be married is the same way others want to be married. And they will want spaces that will 'nurture' and 'show them how'(sic). Kila mtu aende kwa space inampea comfort
