Is a free airdrop for holders and 5$ for everyone else to prevent botting been called „extraction“ the new meta? tbh this is hilarious.
The problem with this space is that its full of people who seemingly have nothing better to do with their free time than spread negativity based on nothing, just to find a handful of internet strangers who will validate their outrage.
If a project does nothing = dead/rug
If a project does sth = extraction
In this case, holders even get sth for free, while everyone else pays $5 to prevent heavy botting. And to be real: if it were completely free, the same people would complain about bots ruining everything.
There is simply no winning with people who are determined to find something wrong with everything.
In the real world, when a company ship a product and I don't like its approach, I simply move on and choose sth that appeals to me more. I don't go to the town square shouting about how terrible I think it is, hoping to find a crowd that cheers with me or my ego.
Life is too short to spend free time being outraged by things you don't even like. I would rather put that energy into things I actually enjoy, support projects I believe in, and focus on what makes me happy.

i love nfts man, coming off of a 24 hour travel day, i had a few things keeping me going..
the thought of seeing my dog & my bed were the main drivers, with some sprinkled in excitement with nfts, i feel this flicker coming back with the recent wind-down announcements (blur, abs)
the thing in the space im most notably excited about is the recent @InvsbleFriends acquisition by the boy @coinbilly
i’ve always thought IF was one of the cleanest IPs in the space with good bones of history to support.

NFTs are an area of crypto that i think deserves another look
the 2021 boom and subsequent crash left a lot of people with a negative view of them, but the underlying concept still makes sense to me
as more businesses move onchain, NFTs could become a useful way to represent ownership, experiment with revenue sharing and build communities around products
i expect there's still a lot of room for experimentation beyond the NFT models we saw last cycle

I'm not on the core team. I don't make decisions. I'm just a tech nerd who's been in this space through the ups and downs. And what's being said about the GVC founders is straight up unjustified.
Chris, Ty, Movki, Bry, Ronny, and Maison are the MOST genuine people I've met in web3. That's a hill I'll die on. I have a good feel for people, even over text, and I don't go out of my way to praise anyone. So when I do, it means something.
I've seen them scoop up NFTs from compromised holders to get them returned. I've seen them quietly gift NFTs to members for their effort, no announcement, no clout. I've seen them check in on people personally and be a shoulder to lean on. I've seen them weigh decision after decision trying to do right by the community.
They didn't take the money and run. They didn't cash out and leave behind empty promises. They never stopped building. Some things work, some things don't, but they haven't quit.
Criticism isn't a bad thing. You can't please everyone. But there's a difference between criticism and being a dick, and a lot of you would rather be a pecker than a decent human being.
My conviction in GVC hasn't changed, and that's because of the team and the community that stuck through all of it. Price goes up, price goes down. That's the game. Say this next part with me: projects do not control the market. They can try everything they can think of and still can't force it to move. Adapt or die, and GVC has done nothing but adapt.
So remember, there are real people behind these PFPs. Opinions are welcome. Hate can GFTO.
