> If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. i know many high agency friends who've burnt out trying to fill in for a shitty colleague, and i do not recommend it
I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens. Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem. If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will. xitter.cf/Virendra0698/status/21…

I’m still mourning the cover affectionately known as “Building Man”— but I love where we landed on BUILT TO GROW press.stripe.com/built-to-gr… The evolution:

I found that a lot of my writing was spent trying to be nuanced, hedging, qualifying, and it weakened the result and produced vastly dull walls of text.

I got Claude to vibecode me a Firefox extension where I have to do mental math quiz or a sudoku to earn Twitter time and it has more or less fixed everything for me
I should have a device in my house that allows me to solve a medium hard mental math puzzle in exchange for a freshly baked cookie or bun

Had to map it. Well and out of NDMC boundary now.
From the lawns of india gate, to boat club, to jantar mantar, each govt progressively threw citizens away from parliament - where our own representatives sit. Now citizens have been thrown out of new delhi altogether. Angrez chale gaye lekin …

hot girls are necessary part of a thriving city ecosystem. hot girls inspire ambitions and call you to transcend. Hot girls make the world go round. A city without hot girls is like a sky without stars
it took not even 30 seconds after leaving my hotel in nyc to see something that i almost never saw in 3 months in sf: i saw a hot girl

I've long wished that online mapping services were far richer and higher-density. They elide so much detail today! We have gloriously high-DPI screens... I want to wallow in cartographic filigree. AI of course now makes this possible: bayatlas.vercel.app

new post: the senior engineer death spiral sunilpai.dev/posts/the-senio… a friend just started a big job and asked for some advice. so I braindumped a monologue about a super common failure mode I see with engineers and posted it here, hope it helps whoever it can.
