Meet our Solar System's newest dwarf planet candidate: 2026 ED138!
Orbiting past Pluto, scientists found it in NSF–DOE Rubin Observatory data from earlier in 2026. Early analysis suggests it's 600–1500 km across, one of the largest found past Neptune!

Starship’s 14th flight is set to launch on Monday, Sept 28. The 75-minute launch window opens at 7:15 a.m. CT. Live coverage of the mission starts ~35 minutes before launch → teapawt.org/i/broadcasts/1qxvvenMP…
>Starship’s initial orbital mission is expected to fly at an altitude approximately 275 km above Earth and complete approximately six orbits around the planet over the course of a nearly 10-hour flight, with splashdown targeted in the Pacific Ocean to the west of Chile. 🚀🌎
Starship is preparing to go to orbit. Flight 14 is targeting to launch as early as Tuesday, September 22, pending regulatory approval → spacex.com/launches/starship…
Would @NASAAdmin ever spend ~0.04% of this year's budget demonstrating a technology that would explode its interplanetary capabilities by roughly 100x?
That's the 3D Plasma Magnet Technology Demonstrator ("Plasmadyne"):

Replying to @is_OwenLewis
Let us fly a plasma magnet test mission for low $10's of M, and if that works, we can send as much as you want at 700km/s almost immediately.

The stellar remnant known as pulsar J0002 is hurtling through space at nearly 2.5 million miles per hour away from the expanding debris of the supernova that created it. It's traveling so fast that it will eventually leave our galaxy. #MondayMotivation

ALT The ghostly bubble of supernova remnant CTB 1 is captured in observations from the VLA (Very Large Array) and the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory’s Canadian Galactic Plane Survey. The golden curved rim of the remnant’s shell is near the center of the image, with the straight, glowing trail from pulsar J0002+6216 pointing toward the lower left. The image is filled with hazy blue clouds and dotted with off-white orbs of varying sizes and brightness. Starship has now been loaded onto a semi-submersible ship to begin the several month journey back to Starbase. Congratulations to the entire SpaceX Recovery team for battling through challenging conditions to give our engineers access to a wealth of data to continue rapidly developing Starship
SpaceX engineers spent several days inspecting Ship 40 in the waters off Christmas Island. They collected heatshield samples and gained vital insight into how the vehicle handled reentry with improvements now planned on future vehicles
