first words Sonya Massey said at her front door were βdonβt hurt meβ
she was told βwhy would we hurt you, you called usβ
when have those words meant anything when your black and woman in this country
when do those words protect you from not being murdered in your kitchen, in your bedroom, with your babies, or on your lawn
what is βreassuranceβ, in this place ?
rest in power Sonya Massey, and an abundance of love and power to Sonyaβs family on this journey

North Carolina's mask ban is so interesting to me because it directly demonstrates the interconnection between the genocide in Palestine and the mass death and disablement of Covid π§΅

I feel like a lot of you didn't see
the man crushed by the tank
the girl shredded in half
the multiple people carrying their family in bags
the doctor who had to amputate his daughter's leg
the bodies left out to rot
cuz ur talking about property

Not violent: spray paint, setting up tents, standing on a lawn, chanting, recording video, prayer, singing songs, blocking sidewalks
Violent: shooting college students, bombing children, famine, mass graves, shelling aid workers, ethnic cleansing
This is basic stuff here folks

Feels kind of silly to have to say this but damage to property is not violent. Shooting college students in the face with rubber bullets is extremely violent however. Hope that helps

So letβs say youβre an up and coming 4 piece band that gets an offer to open for a more established band for a 3 week tour. The rooms they are playing are between 1,500 and 2,500 capacity and theyβre on the coast you live on, so you donβt even need to fly anywhere. Nice!

Thereβs a great quote in this Guardian piece: βArtists are the biggest employers in the industry. They pay for the tour manager, session musicians, agent, manager, crew, insurance, travel, accommodation, equipment, rehearsal space, production. Everything.β theguardian.com/music/2024/aβ¦
