The delusion of powerlessness is just what it is - delusion. The people that make us cower, what power do they have besides that which we willingly concede ?

“JIBWIS disassociated from the guy in the video and handed him over to the police”
What of all the other acts of JIBWIS historically? Can they dissociate from that too? The Niki Tobi Commision said they lit the match that led to the riots in Plateau in 2001
Can they dissociate from that?

VIDEO NEWS: JIBWIS Chairman Demands Arrest, Probe of Man in Group’s Uniform Over Threat to Attack Enugu
JIBWIS National Chairman, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, has called on the DSS, police and other security agencies to investigate a viral video showing a man in the organisation’s First Aid Group uniform calling for AK-47 rifles to attack Enugu on Sunday.
Sheikh Bala Lau has condemned the threats, distanced JIBWIS from the statements and urged authorities to identify those involved and bring anyone found culpable to justice.

These are the followers of Sheikh Yahaya Jingir, the radical Jos-based cleric who was shockingly feted by northern Nigerian governors at the August Kano mass wedding, and proclaims marginalizing Christians.
One of the big inspirations for militants in the Middle Belt.
This is an Islamist terrorist group in Northern Nigeria openly doing a training exercise and publicly singing that:
He should be given AK47 guns
So that he will go to Enugu
The land of the infidels
On Sunday when they are worshiping
He would then open fire
So that he can klll the infidels
He asks again to be given AK47
So that he also can go to Jos
And klll more infidels.
Pls share this for @OfficialDSSNG @PoliceNG and all relevant authorities to act promptly on this matter.
He’s a common LGA chairman in faraway Kaduna. Nobody in Lagos knows him, at least not yet but LGA chairmen have a knack for rising into political prominence. People like Samuel Ortom (governor, minister), Ekeremadu (senator), Nyesom Wike (governor, minister), George Akume ( governor, senator, minister, SGF) & Ganduje (governor, ruling party chairman). There’s Ahmed ALIYU, Dikko Radda & Caleb Mutfwang; current serving governors that were once LGA chairmen. There are many more. In Kaduna, where this man is allegedly an LGA chairman, there’s Senator Hunkuyi who went from chairman to lawmaker.
Nigerians from all over Nigeria need to make things like this their business. These extremists occupy key positions of power. They influence key policy & security decisions, they control budgets running into billions of Naira. We need to simply care beyond the noise on X and we need to decide whether we want to be in a situation where we can’t influence the kind of people that control the trajectory of our shared destiny; because really, Shehu Buba can become a senator whether the English Alhaji likes it or not. It’s not up to him but he has to accept that the former “common” caretaker chairman of Toro local government had such a successful political career that he was put in charge of Nigeria’s senate committee on National security & intelligence. National i.e not just Toro or Bauchi. National as in Niger, Benue, Oyo & Enugu whether they like it or not.
We really really need to have a rethink.

Amnesty International strongly condemns the brutal killing of renowned Islamic preacher Sheik Yahaya Masussuka who was killed today by gunmen on motorbikes as he stepped out of his house in Dutsin Ma Katsina state, to go for usual evening preaching.
The Nigerian authorities must immediately and effectively investigate the incident and ensure that those suspected of being responsible are brought to justice.
Sheik Yahaya Masussuka had consistently used his preaching to promote cooperation, peaceful coexistence, interfaith dialogue and understanding among Muslim faithful. He was also notable for preaching against violent extremism and radicalization.
The late Islamic cleric faced threats to life and intimidation — all through his life.

Samaila Kaigama brought 416 women and children home from Boko Haram.
Then he went on national television and said the government paid for them. A ransom, not a rescue.
The DSS arrested him that same day.
He is now charged with terrorism. One of the seven counts against him is organizing a protest against Senator Ali Ndume of the ruling APC.
He has been in Kuje prison since July. His trial is November 13.

Christian youth leaders in Plateau State, Nigeria, credit joint Nigeria-U.S. counterterrorism efforts for saving lives.
They disclosed that jihadist militants have seized at least 152 Christian hamlets and villages in the last two decades as part of a strategy to impose a caliphate in Africa’s most populous country.
“Since the commencement of joint operations by the DSS, Mobile Police Force and Operation Rainbow, it has become clear that grazing cattle with batches of militants and terrorists carrying lethal weapons to attack hamlets and communities is a strategy of war and forceful occupation being unleashed on Plateau communities,” said the Plateau Indigenous Youth Bodies coalition led by human rights lawyer Solomon Dalyop.

Nigeria: A Christian mother, Liatu Samuel Dawa, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for the “crime” of evangelism.
Liatu shared her faith with a woman in Borno State who later converted to Christianity.
For that, Liatu is now behind bars and her family in hiding after Muslims threatened their lives.
The judge, A.B. Kumdila, imposed the harsh sentence.
This ruling is a gross miscarriage of justice.
The disgraceful action must be overturned and Liatu immediately returned safely to her family.
Free Liatu Dawa.

I still remember the pregnant woman who was kidnapped by bandits and gave birth to twins prematurely in captivity.
The bandit leader threw her newborn twins to his dogs.
As the helpless babies were being torn apart, he raped their mother, who was still bleeding from childbirth.
Imagine the screams. Imagine the helplessness. Imagine a mother watching her babies d!e in the most horrifying way, unable to save them.
A kind of horror no human being should ever have to witness.
She couldn't bear it, she ran mad immediately.
Whenever I remember that woman, a cold shiver runs through my body.
Somewhere, a family is still living with the unbearable pain of what happened to their daughter and grandchildren.
No amount of tears can bring those babies back. No apology can erase that nightmare from the husband.
This happened late last year, under this administration. Yet, some people are already campaigning for the same APC to remain in power.
How does a government explain a country where innocent citizens can be kidnapped, brutalised, dehumanized and murdered?
Have we become so politically blinded that the suffering of our fellow citizens no longer moves us?
Don't you feel it when people are subjected to such horrors that should only happen in zombie movies?
Shouldn't their lives matter more than party loyalty?
How many more mothers must we watch suffer? How many more children must d!e before the government treats our security as the emergency it is?
Our lives don't matter to this government.
I feel like the people supporting this government are more evil and demonic than the government.

BREAKING: Policeman Killed, DSS Officer Injured in Fresh Attacks South of Jos, Nigeria
At least three people have been killed and several others injured in a wave of violence 40-50miles south of Jos, the Plateau State capital.
Among the casualties is a police officer killed in action and a Department of State Services (DSS) officer injured.
The violence began on the night of Sunday, October 11, according to security sources.
In Daress, a community in the Butura district of Bokkos Local Government Area, a Police Mobile Force officer identified as Inspector Sunny was shot and killed at his duty post shortly after sunset.
Around the same time, in a separate incident about 10 miles away, two young men were ambushed and killed along the rural market road between Maikatako and Ruboi villages, also in Bokkos.
In a third attack the same night, about 8 miles southwest of Daress, armed Fulani men attacked a residential home, leaving a father of three with critical gunshot injuries. Police responded to the scene and prevented further damage, according to local sources.
The attacks continued into Monday, October 12.
In Mangu LGA, farmers harvesting corn were attacked by armed men identified as Fulani, who destroyed their farmlands after the farmers fled.
A joint team of DSS and Police officers from the Mangu Division responding to distress calls came under fire from the terrorists who reportedly used cattle as shield and decoy for the attacks. The shooting left one DSS operative injured and a patrol vehicle damaged, it was learned.
Around the same time in Jos East, another group of terrorists ambushed a young man near Fewit village of Fursum District, leaving him for dead, locals say.
The situation remains tense and fluid. Security operatives have been deployed to the affected areas.
This is a developing story. We are monitoring for updates from the Plateau State Police Command and Operation Enduring Peace.

BREAKING: Residents of Bindin in Maru LGA of Zamfara State, have taken to the streets to protest the reported plan to withdraw security personnel from the area after nine security officers were killed in the community days ago.
The residents say pulling out the personnel could leave Bindin and nearby communities even more vulnerable to attacks.
They are calling for the security presence to remain, amid fears that the situation could worsen if the area is left without adequate protection.
BREAKING: Yesterday, bandits loyal to notorious bandit leader Kachalla Gwaska Dankarami attacked Bindin and Gobirawar Chali communities in Maru LGA, Zamfara State, reportedly killing 14 security personnel and some civilians. The exact number of civilian casualties is still unclear.
The attacks have also forced more than 10,000 residents to flee their homes in search of safety.
This is another painful reminder of the human cost of insecurity in Zamfara. May Allah protect those still in the affected areas, comfort families who have lost loved ones and help those displaced by the violence.
How long will thousands of people continue to flee their homes and lose loved ones before a lasting solution is found?
