🛸 UAP Files: The National Archives Presidential Libraries Collection 📍 Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library 📂 Collection: Dwight D. Eisenhower: Papers, Post-Presidential, 1961–1969 📁 Series: Principal Files, 1965–1965 📄 Record: “Letter from Bobbe Richtel and response regarding UFOs” 🗃️ National Archives Identifier: 493468603 In 1965, correspondence concerning UFOs reached the office of former President Dwight D. Eisenhower. This record contains a letter from Bobbe Richtel and a response, preserved within Eisenhower’s post-presidential files. It is another small but revealing piece of the historical record: people continued to write to former presidents about UFOs, and those communications could become part of the presidential archival record. The National Archives does not tell us what the reported UFOs were. Instead, it gives researchers something more useful, the original record to examine. One letter. One response. One more piece of the UFO history preserved in the presidential archives.
