Thrilled to see our new bio-inspired wastewater technology in the @guardian! My team at @SchoolofEng_UoB, Prof @luorgen and colleagues developed this clever microorganism-based system that works like a "Dyson vacuum for wastewater" to remove pollutants: theguardian.com/environment/…

Shoutout to our STEMAZING Partner @IMechE who are sponsoring 12 places for IMecheE members including those women who want to join internationally. If you know IMechE members - let them know to apply - they have a great chance of being selected for this highly popular programme!
Making Lava lamps whilst exploring gas density. Loved leading this StemazingKids Session. @STEMAZING1 @SchoolofEng_UoB
Loved the creativity of the designs. The slow motion videos fully captures the effect of aerodynamics on the spinners. Another wonderful Stemazing sessions. @STEMAZING1 #STEMeducation #stemisfun
Amazing Aerodynamics in Y4. We made different spinners and tested how aerodynamic they were. Our STEM Ambassdor was really impressed with our designs! #STEMazing1 #ScienceAtEM #STEM
Wow, well done, Stemazing Kids, on building such a strong structure. See you next week as we continue our Stemazing journey. @STEMAZING1 #STEMeducation
Yesterday we built structures during our STEMazing lesson. We engineered 2 different types of structure. The cylindrical one with just 4 pieces of paper withstood the weight of 63 books! Incredible 💪📚 #ScienceAtEM
I had my first Stemazing Kids session today and it was fun to see the children launch their straw rocket blasters across the room. Feeling excited and can’t wait to deliver the remaining sessions. @STEMAZING1 @SchoolofEng_UoB #stemisfun #STEMeducation #womaninstem
Year 4 are taking part in STEMazing science over the next few weeks. Khadijat, our scientist, hosted a lesson via Zoom. We made straw rocket blasters and had fun blowing them across the classroom! #STEMazing #ScienceAtEM
Had a wonderful time last night at the Women in Science Forum hosted by @LindemannTrust . Amazing speakers and wonderful discussions. Evening well-spent! #WomenInSTEM @SchoolofEng_UoB @eps_unibham @unibirmingham – at London, England
Networking, refreshments and now roundtable discussions. It is vital to gather tangible feedback to see how we can improve our #fellowships and see what the main challenges are faced by #PhDstudents, #postdocs and #academics in the UK today.
