📢 New review in Molecular Psychiatry: "Role of hippocampal dentate granule cells in memory: neuronal birth timing matters"
This review argues that when a neuron is born may matter as much as how old it is.

👏🏻 @NicolasBlin_ @AbrousNora
We went back through decades of studies and revisited them through the lens of temporal origin. Doing so reconciles contradictions and challenges the "retirement hypothesis."
Birth timing shapes what a neuron does and likely how it's primed by experience, with direct implications for memory, aging & disease.

Excited to see my PhD research out in Molecular Psychiatry!
Grateful for all who supported this work!
Excited to share our new paper in Molecular Psychiatry! We show that successful cognitive aging relies on long-lived adult-born neurons and that these cells can help restore cognitive functions

If you’re at #FENS2024, don’t miss the beautiful poster exhibition of @FENSorg and @EJNeuroscience image competition!
And if you look closely at poster 16, you can find the one that I did with @PacaryE and @JTeillon ☺️
🧠✨️ Throwback to the incredible 3 social events we had during #Eurogenesis2024 👇🧵
🍴🍾 2nd evening was at Café du Port where we shared a very good dinner 🤩 Here is a toast for @AbrousNora and the organizers!
👋👯♀️👯♂️ Finally, to conclude this #Eurogenesis2024, we had a farewell party at the Campus de le Victoire! Thanks again to all the participants for making this conference such a special event! 🥰
🚨🏆 During #Eurogenesis2024, 4 poster prizes were also awarded! Congrats to @ElenaPMoreno (from @LlorensLab), Iyo Koyanagi (from @masanorisaka), Nicholas Chalmers (from Beckervordersandforth lab) & @LyesKaci_MLK (from our lab) for their amazing presentations 🤩
For #Eurogenesis2024, we really wanted to bring young talented scientists from all over the world 🌎 That's why together with our partners @bosn_journal & @MnSociety, 7 travel grants were awarded! Here are some pictures & the full list of awardees below 👇 Congratulations!! 👏🤩
And here is the list:
@evelini 🇧🇷 (by Eurogenesis)
Sebastian Santibañez 🇨🇱 & Dimitrios Troumpoukis 🇬🇷 (by @MnSociety)
@MarieTrinchero 🇦🇷, João Baptista Moreira 🇵🇹, Ana Luísa Ferraz 🇵🇹 & Marta Alonso Moreno 🇪🇸 (by @bosn_journal)
Congrats & thanks again to our partners 💫👏
And to close the session ‘Role of Adult-Born Neurons in Diseases,’ we have @FitzFitzsimons enlightening us on how TBI promotes neurogenesis at the cost of astrogliogenesis! 🤕🧠
Finally, Fred H. Gage (@salkinstitute) wraps up #Eurogenesis2024 with his plenary lecture on the molecular mechanisms regulating novelty recognition! 🌟
