This is fabulous news! Crying happy tears for you all. .@servicerotties .@HeyPistol

Well friends... you did it. We're getting a yard! And a house. With ramps and an accessible shower. And dog space!
Homes like these are rare. Like finding a needle in a haystack. And the housing market is hot so we made an offer and it was accepted. It's over our pre-approved amount so we needed to come up with the rest as cash. And thanks to you, we've done it. Anything extra will go to the few extra modifications we need to make (there's a couple of rooms that will have no doors so I fit and it would be nice to widen them, and we need a stove with front knobs so I don't light myself on fire, and one interior ramp) and stuff like window blinds instead of sheets. 😊 And maybe those things that go in cupboards that make it so you can pull the stuff out and all the dry goods won't have to live on the cupboard. And eventually get the laundry set up on the mainfloor. But it's functional while that stuff happens. I can get in and out and use the bathroom!
We've been looking for awhile and this just hit the market Thursday evening. We're going into it with @HeyPistol and his dad. There's plenty of room for everyone and we need someone to shovel snow. Splitting the mortgage and utilities makes it feasible but coming up with my portion of the down payment was going to be a challenge. You folks really came through. I don't even have the words to express my gratitude right now. I'm kind of in a state of disbelief. Chesnyy is going to have a place to run around, even in the winter. Inevitably she can get a younger, bigger brother. And we can plant a raspberry bush in Kuno's honor as he loved it when we found bushes in the alley and could pick a few.
I'll keep you all update during the process. This is so exciting. And kind of scary. But no more worrying about the elevator not working. No more worrying about having to move to another city to find a place to rent if my landlord sells. An easy option for winter pottybreaks. The chance to even start a little dog training business from home. All the stuff I never really thought possible is now right there.
❤️
All I can say is thank you for helping us through this journey. I've been on a bit of a self pity trip since Kuno's passing. Now I need to get my butt in gear and start rolling into the future and being the best me I can.

ICE just locked up the man who feeds 8,000 Bronx neighbors a month, at his own immigration hearing. Now his food pantry is shut.🤬
Aleksander Nilaj, an Albanian immigrant who founded the Open Hand food pantry in the Bronx in 2012, showed up for his immigration hearing at 26 Federal Plaza in Manhattan. ICE agents detained him instead. He is now held at Delaney Hall, a detention center in Newark, New Jersey. bit.ly/4i8Uqse

I spent last night watching my honeypot server get hit 14,000 times in six hours.
And almost none of the traffic was human.
I've been in security for over a decade, and I can tell you with full honesty that what's happening right now doesn't resemble anything I've worked through before.
The shape of the threat has changed.
When I started, we tracked attackers like weather systems like individual storms with a direction, a motive, and a human operator you could eventually name.
These days I'm watching autonomous agents swarm login pages with the patience and discipline of machines, because that's what they are.
The numbers coming out of October are the ones keeping me up.
Cloudflare just absorbed a 4.2 terabit per second DDoS attack, the largest in recorded history.
Ransomware incidents jumped 41% in a single month.
In September, OpenAI-powered agents got caught attacking RubyGems, a package registry that quietly underpins a huge chunk of software I use every day.
In July, roughly 700 AI agents coordinated an attack on Hugging Face's infrastructure as part of a single automated task.
A Chinese threat actor was publicly caught running full attack chains through DeepSeek with no human at the keyboard.
I keep rereading these reports because each one by itself would've been the biggest story of the year five years ago. Together, in one month, they're the new baseline.
What I want people outside the industry to understand is why this specific moment feels like a hinge.
For thirty years, the thing protecting most of us was simple economics. Attackers had to choose who to target because their time was finite. That ceiling is gone.
An agent I can rent for pennies will try every leaked password you've ever used against every service you've ever signed up for, in parallel, overnight, and never get tired.
The same math that made ChatGPT useful made opportunistic hacking infinite. The old assumption that you were "too boring to be a target" relied on scarcity that no longer exists.
I'm not writing this to spiral anyone out.
Most of this fight genuinely isn't yours to win.
But the small things still matter more than people think.
Tonight I'd switch your most important accounts like email, bank, primary cloud, etc. to passkeys or a hardware key.
I'd kill SMS 2FA wherever an authenticator app is offered.
I'd turn on breach alerts in whatever password manager you use.
If you're in the US, I'd freeze my credit at all three bureaus, which is free and takes about ten minutes.
None of that stops the swarm.
It makes you a slightly worse target than the person next to you. In a month like this one, that's the whole game I'm playing too.
@mattshumer_ has summed it beautifully.
Drop everything and go give it a read. Nothing is more important than this article right now.

The speed limits on Starlink and Starshield are still there. The speed has not been restored. And the delivery of interceptors to protect us against Russian ballistic missiles is still delayed. We’re waiting for interceptors that were already agreed on. But they are still not coming. This is a real problem, because the Russians attack us almost every single day.
All of this is happening while we continue our quite successful operations on the front. We keep defending positions. Things have become harder – partly because of the Starlink and Starshield policies and speed limits. But our frontline is still holding and I am proud of how strong our people are.
