When Oluremi Okarefe first connected with Achēv in 2024, she was an internationally trained teacher facing the challenge of unemployment and trying to find her path in a new country. Through Achēv's Employment Services, entrepreneurship programs, training opportunities, and personalized one-on-one support, Oluremi gained the tools, knowledge, and confidence she needed to move forward. From interview preparation and career guidance to skills development and funded training, each step helped bring her closer to her goal. Today, Oluremi is living in British Columbia, where she has achieved her goal of returning to her profession. She now works as a Classroom Teacher of Mathematics in one of the First Nation Schools in British Columbia. Reflecting on her journey, Oluremi credits Achēv as being a very important part of her journey and among those who helped her move forward one step at a time. A story of the power of perseverance, opportunity, and personalized support in helping individuals achieve their career aspirations.
