Here's a twist on Canadian legend @Alanis's "Ironic" (who was fab when one of us saw her live last month) - in an acoustic version that addresses Trump's #tradewar with Canada and his attempted renaming of Lake Ontario. It's called "Moronic" 🎶 - lyrics: youtu.be/Y6OGKFQBG7s

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.
The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms.
Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.

“I'm not surprised. The same aggression they use to protect jobs back home is the same aggression they've brought to the football pitch. The only problem is that I don't know what job they're protecting this time. If it's the three points...they've lost those too”

What’s that sound? It’s Zaghrouta - a high‑pitched, trilling cry of joy heard for generations from Morocco to Botswana. The tradition went viral after Sabrina Carpenter reacted to it at Coachella. #bbcafrica

First sub 100m race in history where all eight competitors went below 10 seconds. Bolt, Blake, Powell, and Gatlin gave us some great races, but the 2024 Olympics 100m race was a memorable one. Congrats Noah Lyles!

Behind these numbers lie as many human tragedies, which only solidarity and concerted action can alleviate and solve.
