Ashe County Baseball

Congratulations @AdamWagoner15 of @achuskybaseball on Your Commitment to @BJUBaseball Sometimes you have to follow your calling. In Wagoner's case, that calling is pulling him towards a school that offers the Spiritual, Academic, and Baseball Opportunities a future Preacher would need. Not only a talented ballplayer and a good student, Wagoner is already very involved in his Church and Community so he'll fit right into the Bob Jones culture down in Greenville, SC. @BJUedu offers 100 different degrees, has made amazing upgrades to their baseball facilities, and is still the only College Baseball in the beautiful city of Greenville @EllerJerm4 @ZWCsports

Always a fan of a strong LH swinging C and that's exactly who 2028 C Sam Smith of @achuskybaseball is on the diamond. Standing in at 5'11" 175, Smith flashed solid raw pop with EVs up to 93 MPH. Barrel fires quickly out of a subtle, quick load. Could work on balance a bit to help with timing, but there is XBH potential here. Works hard behind the plate, glove actions are quick and consistent behind the plate. I like his receiving. Needs to work on hips and balance to help with footwork on the throws and lateral movements on blocks. Pop times were around 2.2-2.3. Will get better with added athleticism. LH bat looks like it will play and lead the way in his recruiting. 1B/C archetype. Great student 4.09 GPA w/ interest in Construction Management. Solid character @EllerJerm4

Congratulations to @jordantibbs26 of @achuskybaseball being selected as the "Good Iced Tea" Player of the Week. Jordan helped the Huskies earn 2 Conference W's, both over a much-improved Alleghany, this week. In Game 1 of the Series, Tibbs hit a Grand Slam to help the Huskies march back to an 11-9 Victory. Then Tibbs pitched a Gem on Friday, collecting 16 Ks, in route to the sweep. He led one W with the Bat and another W with his arm. Congrats, Jordan! We are also going to start shouting out all our Nominees to give them some recognition. My apologies for not thinking of this sooner. But here's all the Players nominated for Week 3 (now you can see how hard it is to make a choice!). Thank you to all the Coaches that participate each week! Congrats to the following Week 3 Nominees! Peyton Maybin - North Henderson Brayden Coffin - St. Stephens Casey Adams - Wilkes Central Elijah Cunningham - North Gaston Grant Buchanan - Brevard Caleb Costner - Crest Hudson Buchanan - Mitchell Finley Trivett - Avery County Camden Stillwell - East Gaston Parker Stafford - East Gaston Zane Dodd - East Gaston Max Shelton - Madison Zane Buckner - Madison Cody Hudgins - AC Reynolds Patrick Robichauld - Christ School Kenan Helton - Stuart Cramer @tylernc1 @Chris_Womack @ZWCsports @JoeLHughesII

2026 RHP/3B @EllerGavin - @achuskybaseball - 3.7 GPA w/ an interest in Exercise Science/Athletic Training I love the metrics on Gavin's repertoire. 82-84 MPH on the FB w/ 2200+ spins. Tons of HB on the FB, CH, & breaking pitches. Good pitcher's frame, close to 6ft extension, tough low/wide slot; potential to be tough on both LH/RH hitters with his tunnels. Lots of room for growth in his 6'1" 165 body. Hoping to find the right 4 year academic/athletic fit @CoachCheek55
