At this stage it’s worth separating AI from the AI industry
One is a 70-year scientific project that began with Turing and Dartmouth
The other is 3 years of capex, circular deals and debt-financed data centres
The 2nd can crash
The 1st doesn’t depend on markets
It runs on curiosity
Having a go on the EQ & other dynamic audio features
All of these features could be available in your streaming app but whoever you are paying ~$20 a month to just can't be bothered to put the dev time
Open source music torrent player anyone?
Tokenized attribution...
Only me?
Insane to think that the difference between failure and success could be an email going to [SPAM] or not
Diversify your communication channels and prosper
I'm demoing PodTorrent at @AITinkerers HK 2nd Anniversary next week
The incredible density of HK:
- 3M broadband lines
- 262 Mbps median upload speed
- All packed into 1,100 km²
makes the whole city a supercomputer
waiting for a protocol.

In 2013 I somehow ended up with a leaked DVD copy of Wolf of Wall Street
Apparently it had come from the Bafta judging committee
My roommate was a filmmaker and he handed it over like he'd just got hold of a particular potent supply of crystal meth
"You have got to see this"
My girlfriend at the time and I watched it in bed via the projector we used instead of a TV
The wall accross from our bed was painted completely white so it was perfect for this
Much better than a cinema tbh
We were absolutely spellbound from start-to-finish and didn't say a word to each other for the whole movie
As the credits rolled my girlfriend turned to me and said
Have Google
The search engine company
Deliberately broken thier search engine results
So users opt for AI?
