"Almost every software development organization has at least one developer who takes tactical programming to the extreme: a tactical tornado. The tactical tornado is a prolific programmer who pumps out code far faster than others but works in a totally tactical fashion. [...] In some organizations, management treats tactical tornadoes as heroes.
"However, tactical tornadoes leave behind a wake of destruction. They are rarely considered heroes by the engineers who must work with their code in the future. Typically, other engineers must clean up the messes left behind by the tactical tornado, which makes it appear that those engineers (who are the real heroes) are making slower progress."

Life Not Supported is now in Early Access!
This launch will likely be a bit rocky, as it's just me and it's my first game but I'll be reading all the Steam Forum messages, emails and in-game bug reports and try to resolve things quick.

Humans are happiest when they solve problems, particularly with people they respect.
If denied the ability to solve problems, they will inevitably create them.
Google now seems to be training AI to recognise images created by DALL-E like AI. The logical next question will be "which of these images are AI generated?" I wonder how close this is to passing the Turing test, possibly breaking CAPCHA altogether?

Dear @Apple, please add faceID to that hideous notch on the new MacBooks. You have to justify it to us somehow! That's all thanks!

So...my cautious thoughts Shanghai/COVID-Zero-in-China. Yes, I am self-censoring on this one, so this is one of those threads where those of you who need explicit statements and can't read implied meaning and nuance are going to have a tough time.

Corollary: It's a bad sign when founders use the word "disrupt" when talking about their company. People who make things aren't thinking about disruption. It's merely a consequence of what they do, not part of the recipe.
