Congratulations to the WA Parish team and our partners on earning @POWERMagazine's 2026 Top Plant Water Award. Their work helped deliver a first-of-its-kind wastewater treatment system that reduces wastewater volume by nearly 93% and enables zero liquid discharge from flue gas desulfurization, all while supporting the reliable operation of one of the nation's largest power plants. Helping students succeed starts with meeting basic needs. 💙 Through the 2026 TNMP Power Grant program, the TNMP Foundation awarded the College of the Mainland Foundation a $7,500 grant to support the COM Market, a campus food pantry that serves students in partnership with the Galveston County Food Bank. The College of the Mainland Foundation was one of 43 nonprofit organizations across Texas selected to receive funding through this year's Power Grant program. During our visit, we had the opportunity to see the COM Market in its early stages and learn more about its impact on students and the community. The grant funds will help expand the market through the addition of another freezer and more shelving, allowing the pantry to increase storage capacity and serve even more students in need. We are proud to support programs that help remove barriers to education and create opportunities for student success. Thank you, College of the Mainland Foundation, for the difference you're making in the lives of students every day. #COM #PowerGrant #CommunityImpact #StudentSuccess #PoweringCommunitiesTogether 💙 @COMDucks

Historic investment. Lasting impact. With support from a $50 million @ENERGY grant, we're bringing next-generation substation technology to existing infrastructure, helping enhance reliability and meet growing energy demands across the Greater Houston region. The investment is also expected to create more than 500 local jobs to support project construction and installation - delivering benefits for both the grid and the communities we serve.

In times of challenge, community shines brightest. ❤️ Our Central Texas team recently stopped by the Gordon Volunteer Fire Department and the Strawn Volunteer Fire Department with snacks and drinks as a small token of appreciation for the incredible work they’re doing on the front lines of the Ross fires. To these departments and all the volunteer firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to protect our communities. Thank you for your courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment. We are grateful for all that you do.

West Texas isn’t short on opportunity -- it’s short on power lines. The Permian Basin is where that shows up first and worst, and it’s where Texas has already done the work: studied the options, approved the plan, and chose the 765kV backbone that moves more power on fewer lines across less land. Build the lines, and West Texas can finally connect what it has been sitting on. zurl.co/2Xhke #texasgrid #txlege

Temperatures will remain consistently hot with daytime highs in the mid- to upper 90s. System-wide high temperatures may increase by a few degrees into the second half of the week, when a few low 100s will be possible across parts of Far North and West Texas in particular. Relatively isolated storm chances exist through Tuesday, before better rain chances possibly develop into the upcoming weekend. ERCOT is expecting high demand with peaks in the lower- to mid-80,000-megawatt range. Monitor current and extended grid conditions: bit.ly/4y3NDHk
