Really pleased the @metpoliceuk have listened to the extent of concern from our local community and imposed conditions on this far right march.
Businesses and local residents in Church street and around Edgware road have been subject to increasing far right targeting online over recent days and they deserve to go about their lives safely and free from intimidation in their community.
I will continue to stand up for our strong, diverse community that embodies British values of mutual respect and neighbourliness.
We have imposed conditions under the Public Order Act on a Unite the People march organised by UKIP on Saturday, 29 August to prevent serious disorder and serious disruption to communities.
Anyone who knowingly breaches the conditions will be committing a criminal offence. Officers will be policing the events to ensure they pass safely and peacefully.
The conditions mean the protest must:
Participants in the 'No to Sharia Law' protest must assemble on Hyde Park Corner in the shaded area on the map below.
Participants in the 'No to Sharia Law' protest must not assemble before 11:30hrs.
Participants in the 'No to Sharia Law' must follow the route outlined on the map below.
Participants in the ‘No to Sharia Law rally’ must assemble in the shaded area on the attached map in Richmond Terrace.
The 'No to Sharia Law' rally must end by 16:30hrs.

I'm sickened by the Shadow Home Sec's recent visit to Church Street spreading fear and hatred in a desperate bid to chase Reform votes. I hope local Tories will join @wminsterlabour in calling out his divisive rhetoric and back our vibrant and diverse community
Westminster Labour has published an open letter to @PaulSwaddle following Chris Philp’s visit to Church Street.
We’re asking him to reject the divisive language and misleading statements used, and stand up for Westminster residents.

It was lovely! Great to see the gardening project too!
🌿 We were delighted to attend the opening of the new community garden at Lilestone Hub - a great example of what Labour in power delivers for residents. 🌼 An oasis in the city with space to grow, relax and connect, designed with residents. 🤝 #Westminster

Brilliant to see so many British Moroccan candidates standing for Labour this May. Wherever you are please vote Labour on Thursday.
As Chair of @LFMorocco I'm proud of the excellent British-Moroccan candidates standing in local elections in Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster on 7 May.
Have a listen to some of their priorities, and the progress we're making on strengthening the UK-Morocco partnership.

As Chair of Labour Friends of Morocco I am really pleased to see this significant step forward in the UK-Morocco partnership, including supporting Morocco's autonomy plan for Western Sahara, economic growth, energy and of course the 2030 World Cup gov.uk/government/news/uk-mo…

I am so proud to be standing in Queen’s Park and Maida Vale.
This is a community full of people working for change & a Labour government will get behind them.
If elected I will work every day to give back to a community that has given my family so much.
Vote Labour on 4th July to change our country 🌹

I’ve known @TulipSiddiq for 16 years and so her support in Cities of London and Westminster means a lot. Speaking to residents in Page Street who want a Labour MP and a Labour Government, we talked about hope for a brighter future.
If you want change #VoteLabourJuly4th
Congratulations to the newlyweds! So happy for you and wishing you both a lifetime of health, happhappiness and prosperity! ❤️🥳😘
And then the sun came out and we had a joyous hour in Marylebone at the wedding of Mouna and @Hamza_Taouzzale - councillor, former Lord Mayor of Westminster and much loved friend. He was 15 and Westminster’s Youth MP only *yesterday* and now he’s all grown up

Canvassing in Maida Vale for @JSmallEdwards and Sadiq Khan with @w9maidavale @aicha_less and others. Lovely day to talk to residents.
Comments made by Warwickshire councillors were shocking. We at Westminster are committed to supporting everyone, especially children facing multiple disadvantages and we continue to help parents and enabling them to reach the best outcomes for their children.

Just announced: Sadiq is freezing all TfL fares from March.
While the Tories are hiking rail fares across the country, Sadiq has intervened to support Londoners struggling with the cost of living.

It is a deeply emotional time as we hear that our amazing MP, my dear friend Karen Buck, has taken the decision not to stand again at the next election. She has been a true champion for our local area, someone whose kindness and commitment to social justice is unparalleled.
Very pleased that my wonderful colleague and friend takes on another challenge. An amazing gain to his home county! ❤️
Macclesfield has been taken for granted for too long. It's time for change.
Proud to submit my application to be Labour's candidate for the town that made me.

🌱 Last night @wminsterlabour declared an ecological emergency in Westminster, expanding our climate emergency 🌹
❌ In a genuinely unexpected move, the local Tories did NOT support this.
