Is there no end to Hibs’ munificence? Not just Celtic, not just Dundee Utd, but Aberdeen wouldn’t have got going without us, in their case a threatened Hibee flit to the Granite City. It’s in my book, Hibs at 150, and by way of thanks, how about a two-goal start tomorrow?

It’s that time of year. You open @uncutmagazine to study their top 80 albums of ‘26 and discover you bought … just 4. Lemon Twigs, Johnny Blue Skies, Aldous Harding, Phoebe Bridgers (the No 1). A record low! Still, the Lone Groover lives to fight another day …

go on! 😂
The great Paul Whitehouse is 68 years old today, which means I am obliged to post this (again!) - arguably the most majestically random but brilliant comedy sketch committed to celluloid for at least the last, what, forty, forty five years? Yes, forty, forty five years. Happy birthday Paul 🤘

It’s all yabber-yabber these days, Dougie, but truly that was the pinnacle of your broadcasting career!
I still get Hibs fans thanking me for curtailing our @BBCSport post match discussion after the 07 League Cup victory to listen to the fans singing.

Been replaying clips of “Sunshine on Leith” much? There’s a whole chapter on why it gets us - and not just us - in my book Hibs at 150 …

The current ish of @NutmegMagazine has this from me. I’ll probably get some abuse for it but obviously I don’t feel sorry for them anymore and sincerely hope their longtime shunning of the Lge Cup continues tomorrow

Kane wasn’t Bayern’s best player of the season. That was Olisé, the Bundesliga Player of the Season. 🏆 He wasn’t the best Champions League player either. That was Kvaratskhelia. 🌟 Nor was he England’s best player at the World Cup. That was Bellingham. 🏴 And he wasn’t the World Cup’s best player. Rodri was. Messi, Rodri, Mbappé, Olisé & Bellingham all had stronger claims than Kane. 👀 To make matters worse, he won no major trophies. 🤦‍♂️ ❌ He couldn’t get Bayern through the Champions League semi-final second leg to the Final with clutch goals. ❌ He couldn’t get England through the World Cup semi-final to the Final with clutch goals. Yet Kane won the Ballon d’Or on the back of 73 goals. ⚽️ That’s what the Golden shoe is for, and he’s already won that award.
