There is an entire generation of hockey fans that grew up reading Stan's books and learning about the history of the NHL from them. Definitely one of the driving forces of the growth of the game in the greater NYC area in the 1970's and 1980's.

One of these days, the Professional Hockey Writers Association will do the right thing and award him with the Elmer Ferguson Award. The fact that he has yet to receive it and is not in the Hockey Hall of Fame is an absolute disgrace.

So good to hear my old friend as he continues to kick it. Can't slow a good man down. Now let's get him in the Hockey Hall of Fame. It's long past time.

You are so right @LunchpailHockey. It was nice to see him get the recognition being inducted into the @USHockeyHOF So richly deserved!

That Bruce Bennett has been so good for so long, the HHOF should launch a photographers honor akin to Elmer Ferguson for writers and name it for him. Really. Worth 1000 words? A writer might quibble at that, but his contribution, and that of Denis Brodeur, deserve recognition.

With great sadness, we bid a heartfelt and reluctant farewell to Susan Saint James. Susan made a memorable guest appearance as Aggie O'Shea in the season eight M*A*S*H episode "War Co-Respondent." She was 80.

Made by my brother- in-law in honor of my dad… 💔💔💔
With all the incredible tributes being shared about Ron, I figured l'd show my love the way I know best... by putting together a video that looks like it took way more time than it actually did. Going through these old photos and memories with Amber has been pretty special, and I wanted to share the Ron not everyone got to see.
The world knew Ron Duguay as a hockey player, a fighter, a celebrity, and a guy who lived one hell of a life. To us, he was Dad, Grandpa, and my father-in-law for 19 years.
Truth is, Ron and I weren't always that close. But these last two years changed that. More dinners, birthdays, holidays, football games with the grandkids, and countless bike rides around the Back Bay. I never turned down a ride with Ron, no matter what time of day.
When he was diagnosed with stage four cancer two years ago, we knew how serious it was. Looking back, I believe God gave us those extra years for a reason. Time to connect deeper, mend relationships, and make memories.
Ron wasn't just fighting cancer. He was fighting for one more day. One more dinner. One more birthday. One more holiday.
One more game with his grandkids.
And he gave us so many of them.
We always wish for one more when we lose someone. But Ron spent two years fighting through unimaginable pain to give us those moments. We were already getting our "one mores" all along.
These last couple of weeks, I watched @amberstavros, @mrs__shay and @13duguay show incredible strength and
love for their dad. And @SarahPalinUSA , who never left his bedside. Seeing Ron surrounded by so much love in his final days was heartbreaking, but also beautiful seeing the amount of love surrounding him.
One of my last moments with Ron was holding his hand, squeezing tight, and exchanging the words "I love you." I don't think we'd ever said those words before. I'll cherish that moment forever.
To everyone who has reached out, prayed, shared stories, or checked in on Amber and our family, thank you. We love you and appreciate you more than you know.
I believe Ron is finally at peace, free from pain, and in God's hands.
Rest easy, Ron. Thank you for fighting so hard to give us those extra memories.
Love you.
