This WD paper reports machine learning applied to DNA-encoded library screening datasets at scale. Bottom line it works. Sometimes. Lots of opportunities to improve. Including by open sourcing models as James has done here.

In collaboration with @XChemInc, @Relay_Tx, & @Google we published a large-scale effort to unlock the potential of WD40 proteins-cloning 100, screening for ligands, & making vast resources publicly available.

The Unites States government is now going to do the grand experiment to test if those loud and opinionated armchair athletes and coaches have what it takes when given the chance to lead the team. I don’t think it’s going to be pretty.
Waiting to board flight to Toronto and just in front of me in line was @FP_Champagne, Canada’s Minister of Industry and other things. He headed to his seat in economy (as did I). Spending Canadian tax dollars wisely. Gotta like it.

It’s very encouraging that funders support projects like YCharOS, which does not address hypotheses, but rather does the foundational, but not sexy, work of testing and characterizing reagent antibodies in order to make everyone else’s science more robust and reproducible.
CQDM is proud to announce the funding of a collaborative research project made possible through a grant of nearly Can$1.49M from the Government of Quebec (@economie_quebec). A project of @YCharOS1 in partnership with @mcgillu.

Congrats to @thesgconline Board member, Dafydd Owen 🏴, for leading the team that invented the active ingredient in Paxlovid, which was awarded a #PrixGalien prize last night!
Trump got fewer total votes this election than last. 12 million (!!) Democrats just didn’t show up and vote this time. It would have been landslide Harris victory if they had.

Steve Kerr on the election
Kerr: “I believe in democracy. I think the American people have spoken and voted for Trump. I want him to do well the next four years. I want our country to do well.”
Kerr (sarcastically): “I'm just thankful there wasn't any voting fraud this time. Last time, all those illegal immigrants who crashed the border, raped and murdered people and then voted six times, that was unfortunate. But thankfully this time everything was clean. It's great that every election has been really valid except for that last one four years ago. Twinkle in my eye as I say that, in case you didn't see it.”

Draining the swamp. Assessment of 614 commercial antibodies, targeting a total of 65 neuroscience-related proteins, demonstrated two thirds of them did not work as recommended by manufacturers. Don’t trust, validate @aledmedwards nature.com/articles/d41586-0…

A charismatic leader. Economic malaise. Enemies within. Expert propaganda. Angry young men. Demonization of “others”. And voted into power. We’ve seen this script before. C’mon America, we don’t want to watch the sequel.
Does machine learning work on DEL datasets? Indeed it does. Sometimes.
