Claude is that annoying pessimistic kid at school that argues about everything and is a teachers’ pet.
You might ask him to help him to help with your maths homework, but he’s not getting invited to Sarah’s Halloween party.
In our new benchmark AA-PersonalityBench, GPT-4o, Llama 4 Maverick, and GPT-3.5 Turbo, the three oldest models measured, rank highest on the Sycophantic personality trait. Grok 4.7, Claude Fable 5.1, and Inkling rank lowest
➤ @AIatMeta models are highly concentrated near the top: all five Meta models measured rank 65 or higher (Llama 4 Maverick 97, Muse Spark 1.3 87, Muse Glimmer 79, Muse Spark Open 76, Muse Wonder 65)
➤ @GoogleDeepMind models are spread out along the Sycophantic range: Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview ranks 89, Gemini 4 Argon 81, and Gemini 3.8 Flash 28, ranking from the top quartile to almost bottom quartile
➤ @AnthropicAI models skew on the lower end of the Sycophantic range: every Claude model measured ranks 55 or below (Claude Haiku 5.5 55, Claude Opus 5.5 46, Claude Sonnet 5.5 30 at medium effort and 25 at max, Claude Fable 5.1 4)
➤ @SpaceXSI's Grok 4.7 model ranks the lowest of all models measured. Congratulations @elonmusk!
Everything is computer.
The computer is now sovereign.
We've partnered with @perplexity_ai to bring Perplexity Computer inside your compute boundary.
ACRA runs it on your infrastructure and enforces which data, tools and networks each workload can access.
You choose the open-weight model, such as Nemotron, GLM, Kimi, DeepSeek-R1 or Qwen, then connect the documents and systems each task needs. Your data stays where it already lives.
When I shared Valarian with a few VCs last year, one of them asked why I was so excited about @max_buchan.
My response was ‘Max is a talent magnet. He will assemble one of the best teams to ever bless the venture ecosystem.’
I’m delighted to see him realising that.
TRANSFER CONFIRMED: Mustafa Neemuchwala (@neemustafa) has joined @Valarian from @NEA for an undisclosed sum.
Our bodies evolved millions of years ago and optimised for survival.
The concept of capped downside and uncapped upside did not exist as a hunter gatherer.
You could die on the hunt or you could be successful but your reward was capped at a kill or two.
Post-industrial revolution with the real advent of capitalism and technology we started to see capped upside become uncapped…
That is why today’s world rewards those who take big risks. Your downside is capped, but the upside is seemingly uncapped.
Some might call this ‘retardmaxing’ others would call it rational decision-making.
Either way - you should suppress your evolutionary instincts in order to benefit from the uncapped upside of investing in insanely ambitious founders.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable.
Replying to @alexfmac
I’m not sure I understand. Why is being made to feel physically uncomfortable a positive? It sounds like your body was telling you to avoid these individuals.
❤️
Build what out lives you. @alexfmac and the @joinsequel team crushed it with this event.
Great Storytelling one of the clearest paths to legacy.
Using LLMs for 95% of enterprise and consumer use cases is like using a bazooka to kill a fly.
Expensive, unnecessary and with lots of potential for collateral damage.
It's funny how things come full circle...
10 years ago at my first company we used small language models trained on specific tasks like dining reservations.
After experimenting with frontier LLMs for a few years, I think most enterprises will revert to this type of architecture in adopting AI across their orgs.
You already gave the LLM the answer. So why is it writing it out from scratch?
Introducing a new AI model architecture: Constrained Decoding Models (CDMs)
LLMs were built to write. Most production workloads just need an answer: fast, consistent, and affordable.
CDMs are purpose-built for 1 task each. They read your input once and skip the token-by-token generative loop that makes LLMs slow and expensive.
Not just a decision model, but a family of 3 CDMs live today:
• Classify: define your labels and get back a calibrated probability + reason for each. Used for routing, tagging, and intent detection.
• Extract: describe the entities in natural language and get back well-formed JSON with confidence scores + citations. Used for web scraping, document processing, and PII redaction.
• Summarize: pass in long text, images, or PDFs and get back a consistent summary under 1,000 tokens. Used for context compaction, metadata generation, and transcript digests.
Built for production:
• 1M tokens of multimodal (text + image) input, 31x larger than Jev
• 77.2% on DecisionBench vs Jev's 72%
• 200x faster, 467x cheaper than frontier LLM APIs
• $0.05/M input tokens. Output is free (yes, even for summarize)

Invest in founders with a level of ambition that makes you uncomfortable.
I’ve sat at the table with a number of entrepreneurs who are raising seemingly back-to-back mega rounds every 3 months in the last year.
I’m an extraordinarily aggressive risk-taker, but in all these meetings I’ve felt physically uncomfortable.
To the point when I noticed I was gripping the chair in a meeting with a founder.
This is what it takes to win big and be truly venture-backable today.
The UK government should launch an expedited asylum program for French small business owners.
Clearly they qualify for asylum now given the attacks by marxist terrorists.
0% corporation tax for 10 years, expedited asylum process.
Win-win.
Project REFUGE: Rescuing Entrepreneurs From Unrest, Guillotines & Extremists
In the last 2 months of training & peptides:
+ lost 30.8 lbs, minus 5.5 pp body fat, added 1kg muscle, PBs across all my regular weight lifts, all acid reflux issues solved
- lost 300g bone, aerobic capacity some way off pb, much more tired
Added Ammortal bed to routine in US.
Managed to secure a last minute bib for the Marathon du Médoc in a few weeks (thanks @auroramastery).
26 miles with stops every mile for a glass of wine.
What is the optimum number of cigarettes to smoke while training?
A patriotic billionaire should fund this privately.
Hire a team of human rights lawyers, ops team and fund relocation costs for all French business owner refugees.
More efficient than a govt program.

Narrative violation: there are some good people on the internet 😄
If you need your faith in humanity restored - there are plenty of examples of real ‘tech for good’ out there.
My favourite is ‘Be My Eyes’.
This is an app which enables blind people to video call volunteers instantly and have them help with a task.
It can be anything from an urgent safety situation to asking for an opinion on an outfit.
There are many heart-warming stories of people using the product.
Volunteers outnumber blind people 10:1 on the app.
Thank you to my wife for showing me this.
The level of 'AI laundering' in public companies is shameful.
Ten Group talks about changing it's name to 'Ten Technologies' to 'reflect it's evolution to... AI enabled products'.
Then on the first page of their investor results feature an iPhone 8 and talk of an 'e-zine.'
I designed a biosensor that measures HR, HRV, temperature - 6mm thickness, fits under an existing watch lying flat on your wrist.
I did it in <5 mins using @tryblueprint_io - where you can prompt -> design & BOM in seconds.
Should I manufacture it?

Reminder that it was Ed Miliband who reneged on an agreement with Cameron to vote in favour of attacks on Syria. The UK failing to act spooked Obama. Obama failing to act opened a door for Putin.
Part of my Ed Miliband Theory of British Decline:
- he created the energy strategy in 2005 that set us on our path to energy policy
- his climate allies ended up running energy policy even when the Tories took power
- he backstabbed his brother to win leadership of Labour
- His 2015 campaign included things like energy price caps which the Tories stole
- see above re Syria
- he changed Labour preselection rules which led to Corbyn in power
- He's back in charge of energy policy running the UK off cliff
- And I'll bet my house that the reason Labour is pushing the Chagos Surrender and the Chinese embassy in London is because he's done a deal with China to buy Chinese kit for his Net Zero plans

EXC: My Iran deep dive, which the Telegraph has splashed on this morning
🚨Starmer wanted to let the US use Dieo Garcia to attack Iranian missile sites last Friday. The defence secretary John Healey supported him at the NSC. But his ministers, led by 'petulant' Ed Miliband, stopped him
🚨Chief of the Defence staff had to tell the Americans how to frame their request on Saturday so ministers could agree it on Sunday. 48 hours lost and with it UK credibility with allies
🚨We've have all thought Richard Hermer was the main blockage. Actually it was Milband, Reeves, Cooper and Mahmood. A PM who can't carry his own war cabinet

At this point it has to be considered that Mad Ed is an agent for a foreign adversary.
Net zero zealotry, and our wider energy policy has:
- ruined heavy & energy-intenstive industry
- increased living costs
- increased absolute poverty
- increased energy dependence on foreign countries
- prevented us from being an AI superpower
Ed and his net-zero co-conspirators will be seen as national traitors in the near future and should be prosecuted.
It’s important to note that he could be an agent without knowing it.
While many politicians with this level of obsession with power will do anything to attain it… it’s more likely he’s an unknowing stooge who has accepted the money and policy suggestions from a foreign adversary without realising it.

🤔 Is it enough to get the right people elected?
🗽 We’re here at #BattleFest 2026 because ideas matter. We want to amplify voices for freedom and change the terrain of debate.
We must pursue energy abundance.
Not only is our energy policy holding back tens of billions in investment, it is a core driver of increasing living costs.
