I'm looking for someone with a PhD (or decently into one), or 10+ years in systems programming, anywhere in the world Remote allows me to pay, to publish a monthly column for @theconsensusdev selecting and putting a CS research paper in context. $600 per article. No particular length requirement as long as it's well done. Use AI for whatever you want but you must write by hand and own correctness (I'm checking too of course). Please pass along. There are also very well paid postdoc positions at the new Lodha Theoretical Physics Institute in Mumbai. academicjobsonline.org/ajo/L… The salary is higher than that of many (most!?) faculty on the government payroll!

Building production app has never been this easy. You don’t need the cloud on day 1. You can literally run your app locally and still ship it. Need cloud? run docker on your own machine and expose via Cloudflare Tunnel. Build first. Learn the cloud later :D

📣 The PGConf India 2027 Call for Papers closes this Thursday, 15 October (Anywhere on Earth). If you've been thinking "I'll submit it this weekend" — the weekend is too late. A few reasons not to wait until the last hour: 🔹 Your abstract deserves a second draft. The ones that get picked are clear about the problem, what the audience will learn, and why you're the person to tell it. That takes more than one pass. 🔹 A colleague's quick read helps a lot. You can't get that review at 11:58 PM. 🔹 Last-minute rushes go wrong. Especially time zones catch people out. You don't need to be a core contributor to have a talk worth giving. A production war story, a migration you got through, a performance problem you finally cracked, an extension you built, or what you learned running Postgres at scale — that's exactly what people come to hear. First-time speaker? Submit anyway. Every speaker on that stage once sent in their first abstract. Submit here 👉 pgconf.in/cfp?openCfp=4#cfp-… And if you know someone with a great Postgres story, tag them below and give them a nudge. 🐘 #PostgreSQL #PGConfIndia #CallForPapers #Postgres #OpenSource

Folks i am looking to enhance my research group. The PhD student positions is below. Pls RT !! 🙏🙏 PhD Position: Urban Robots with World Models and RL for Indian Streets I am looking for one/two PhD student(s) to build algorithms and systems for robotics for Indian urban spaces -- mainly around urban mobility. The core approach is learned urban world models combined with (probably) reinforcement learning, moving from data and simulation to real robots. Current world models and navigation policies are trained mostly on structured Western streets and fail in these conditions. There are interesting research questions that will also lead to products/startups for Indian (and who knows even the west) streets. E.g: Which world-model representations best capture dense, unstructured, multi-agent street behaviour? Can policies trained largely inside a learned world model transfer to real robots with little real data? The work starts with data, models and simulation, then moves to campus trials and field deployment. Target venues include ICLML, ICRA, NeurIPS, ICLR, ITSC and of course transactions of various kinds. Who should apply ? A B.Tech/M.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent in CS, EE, ME, mathematics or a related field, meeting IIIT Delhi PhD eligibility. "Deep" interest in ML :) RL, computer vision, or robotics experience is a plus. The fellowship follows IIIT Delhi norms, and eligible candidates are later encouraged to apply for PMRF. This is a rolling position. Email [email protected] with the subject "PhD Urban India Models". (write your email in your own words). I have collaborations in US, Australia and in HK. The candidates will have the opportunity (optional) to visit them as well.
