Watching Cuckoo @royalcourt was a a familiar dream. Seeing my gran on stage 9 months after losing was a healing tool I didn't know I needed. From club biscuits to Llandudno to the serving hatch to rollers. This is a beautifully observed play which left me stunned by its detail.

I don’t think anyone will ever be able to fully comprehend the extent of intergenerational trauma that is being created right now as we speak. This will be a stain on the history of humanity forever.

For Black History Month, I want to highlight Black bookshops including New Beacon Books, the UK’s 1st Black bookshop. Back in 2021, owners said they’d be closing their doors due to financial constraints but people raised over £70k to keep them open. Check them out all year round

Library love! Here’s a new poem by Brum poet Bradley Taylor celebrating Stirchley Library and all the librarians and library assistants who are at the heart of our public libraries. Yes, heart is definitely the right word… ❤️ @BrumLibraries @LibraryofBham

If all that is offered is only what is known; only what is known will be all that is offered.
Proud of @SameenaHX1 & @thebrownhijabi for proving that more than what is currently routinely offered needs to be sought out for those audiences currently starved of representation.

I could wax lyrical about the level of radical deep transformation, solidarity and political organising I hope for in the world and our role in it, but living in this country and watching people show up like this tonight. You know what, fair play folx, let’s see where we can take this. Rated.

It's offical, I've rang the police and they are aware of a 'demonstration' happening this afternoon at 5pm. Please spread the word and make sure you're all home and safe during this time!

What will it take for political leaders to explicitly call out the Islamophobic and racist nature of the violence we are witnessing across the country?
beautiful evening watching Secret Garden @OpenAirTheatre dramaturgy in the birds tweeting and the slow wind. Playful, delicate, precise performances. A magical, life-affirming adaptation that felt birthed from our surroundings.
overjoyed to be spending the next few months adapting + directing this brilliant children's book into a play w/ Birmingham poet + legend Spoz. Collaborating with an all-star brum team on the story of an alligator living in the canal. All the radical joy.

As soon as I started telling the history of Palestine - and the fact that this genocide started 76 years ago with the Nakba, not with October 7th - they changed the subject to talk to Piers Morgan about a Netflix show. Interesting.
Well done to @mikaelaloach for bringing up whats happening in Gaza on #BBCLaurak, when the subject hadn't been mentioned or raised by the host or any of the politicians up until that point.
