This has a lot of good ideas behind it. I just didn’t laugh that much.

this is the climax of an episode that is just characters talking in rooms made up of reused sets with tables and chairs for 45 minutes and its one of the best episodes of star trek ever made
if you tried to make this today without people screaming and crying they'd just kill you

Mass Effect’s Project Overlord.
In this DLC for Mass Effect 2 you are sent to a Cerberus research base that is overrun with Geth. It’s discovered that experiments are being conducted on a human’s mind to create a hybrid virtual intelligence.
It’s one of the more disturbing missions from the franchise.

It could be a character who was told to let go of his friends but didn't, who was told to give up on his father but wouldn't, yet who never allowed attachment to lead him to the dark side, willing rather to lay down his life than despair.
If only!

The Villneuve worms are obviously the better depiction here, though I’m also a fan of how Alex Jay Brady made her rendition of the worms.

Persona 1 Remake Thoughts and Analysis
Obviously I'm not going to post any of the footage, please understand.
There are three demos to look at, Dungeon, Battle and Event.
It seems the project is neither fully classic nor fully modern Persona. It leans heavily on the modern style visually, but with a visual identity that is unlike any previous Persona game, including the original versions of P1.
The game retains a party of 5 members and the moon phase system (not a calendar). It seems that during the full moon, special events occur in the dungeon, such as powerful Demons spawning. The protagonist is very obviously using the Persona 3 Reload run cycle animation. The hallways have a few P3R and P4R assets.
The enemies, at least for now, are the modern SMT and P5 Demons. This makes sense considering the original game, but I would expect them to also include the enemies that were exclusive to that game.
The combat options feature Persona skills, Gun, Sword, Guard and Item, which is just about what I'd expect. There is no grid system in sight (thank god), but I do admit I expected them to at least modernize it by reusing the Front/Back lane system of Etrian/Metaphor.
The UI seems to show now the full turn order, like in Persona 2, but also enemy intent. Persona 1 and 2 had you select everyone's action before the turn started. That doesn't seem to be the case here, as we briefly see Tatsuya (lmao) take over and get a turn off of the protagonist's action.
I do not think P1R is a 1 More + AOA game. If you've followed me for long enough, you'll know I've pushed Soul Hackers 2 as the most likely approximation of what Atlus would do in a remake of P1 and P2. I still see some trace of this, especially as far as it comes to what they've shown in the Events section.
When hitting an enemy weakness, the enemy has their action intent cancelled, and rather than the player getting an extra action, whoever is the closest party member in order will get a "Chain" follow-up, and have their own turn pushed all the way up. This is basically Baton Pass, but without the "1 More" part, meaning the member receiving the "Pass" will only get one action. This feels similar enough to modern Persona, but toned down as far as turn manipulation goes. I would expect this game to be more challenging than the modern games.
Once every active party member has downed an enemy and a certain "Chain" multiplier is hit, the player can choose one of the party members to execute a finisher. In the video, this leads to the victory animation, but I believe this is just for Demo purposes as it looked single target with the other Demons still alive. The player also got 99999 EXP, which is blatantly scripted.
The Events section seems to show a hangout system. These are similar to Social Links in the sense that you are building a bond with the party members, but the entire cast is involved in these. There's no way to verify this, but the execution and unlock method of these events is likely similar to the Bar Heidrun hangout events from Soul Hackers 2, highly optional and unlocked through main story progress and sidequest progress. The combo of portraits and concept art makes me think the entire style for these is still in pre-production. The protagonist is (thankfully) still silent and explicitly an avatar of the player. The scene shows a pixelated zombie corpse as the party eats dinner and bystanders run in a panic.
I've always been more focused around Persona 3 and Persona 4, so I won't speak on behalf of P1 fans and definitely won't pass judgment on a clearly early pitch demo, but the style and ideas presented look very good to me. Between this and a straight port of the games, I much prefer seeing what they're going to do with this and would actually consider purchasing the games to replay them.

Persona 1 leak looks credible, not sure why people are reporting Tatsuya is replacing Masao, that's just complete bogus.
This is most likely an internal investor pitch for remakes of Persona 1 and 2, and not actually Persona 1.
There are Persona 4 Revival animations in the gameplay footage, which definitely helps the case of it being real.
