It’s insane how bad they’ve shot it…and up 19? This team is playing tough defense, grabbing rebounds like crazy and not turning it over. Love it.
Worst performance from Ant ever? There’s been quite a few egregious stinkers in his career. It’s one of the things that’s kept him from leading the league in scoring.
Also: His whistle remains terrible.
I agree that Joan’s role should be protected…he’s the most important developmental talent the Wolves have by far and he needs experience.
I think a better version of Lyles would be ideal. Jalen Smith, for example, would be capable 5 in a small-ball lineup or in the event of Joan/Rudy foul trouble and he can also play next to either of them. He’s an excellent rebounder, a solid defender and a quality 3 pt threat.
Others that fit this mold to keep in mind ahead of February:
Santi Aldama
Kyle Filipowski
Bobby Portis
Isaiah Stewart
I don’t really understand the urgency to bring in a quality backup 5. I’d be all over bringing in a depth guy willing to sit at the end of the bench for insurance, but otherwise let’s let Beringer develop here for a while.
Bringing in a quality backup 5 just blocks Joan.
Instead, I’d be looking at options to upgrade a backup 4/wing that can give more support on physical matchups. Let’s have some patience on that backup 5 spot.

You can only pick one for the #Vikings to trade for ahead of the trade deadline in 3 weeks. Who would you choose?
• RB Jonathan Taylor
• G Quentin Nelson
• S Antoine Winfield Jr
• DL Jalen Carter

Jeff Teague says he’s taking Portland’s backcourt over Minnesota’s
“Ja Morant is better than LaMelo Ball. And Anthony Edwards and Dame is a toss up.”
