“Electoral fraud is real, but so is political delusion”
SIMON KOLAWOLE: “For some people, if their preferred candidate is not declared the winner, then the election must have been rigged. True, rigging is a fact — it is undeniable — but it is not always the reason people lose elections. For instance, until his death, Buhari believed that he won the 2003, 2007 and 2011 elections but was rigged out. In 2011, he even alleged that a software in INEC’s computers reduced his votes by 40 percent. He was convinced his huge popularity in the core north was enough to make him president. But no candidate has ever won the presidential election by being popular in just one section of the country. You need other sections as well — as Buhari eventually realised in 2015. It is worrisome that many people do not countenance the fact that Nigeria has 36 states, the FCT, six geopolitical zones and 774 local government areas. More than 20 million Nigerians regularly vote in presidential elections. Different interests motivate them. Some are moved by ethnic and religious sentiments; some, political affinity; some, party affiliation; some, ideals and policies; and some, “stomach infrastructure”. Moreover, voters in rural areas, semi-urban towns and big cities behave differently when it comes to voting. Social media and WhatsApp cannot capture every sentiment.”

For more than 50 years, a group of timekeepers has been quietly sneaking extra seconds onto the world's clocks. Now they've voted to stop, and the moon is getting its own clock.

The shameful part is that older politicians are angels beside these guys.
They have no value, just the love of money.
It’s going to be a long night!!!

The irony!!!
Ironically, the right to choose was meant to protect the opposition, not the ruling party.
It exists so the powerful don’t trample on the weak.
It’s at the heart of democracy.
Democracy isn’t just “government of the people”, it’s a system where the majority decides who governs them under agreed rules.
“My decision on voting” is so powerful I owe no one an explanation.
I can vote someone because he’s handsome.
Or because she’s tall and beautiful.
I can even get to the booth and pick randomly. That’s how powerful that right is.
It’s in everyone’s interest, especially the opposition, to protect that right. Without it, we don’t have democracy, we have mobocracy or autocracy.
You can criticize any government without lying.
I do not understand the urge to lie during civic discourse. I mean, I can understand politicians lying and deploying propaganda, but not citizens, journalists, activists, and others.
This tendency to lie and set up unrealistic standards is the main reason why a lot of ex-journalists and activists struggle when they are finally given responsibilities.
“The reality is different from the inside”
Stfu!
It’s not different, your pretentious value/morality met reality.
Twitter intellectual class are coming up with another policy, only to denounce it later.
Would you support the fuel subsidy plan proposed by financial analyst Kalu Aja?
@FinPlanKaluAja1 proposes using NIN, BVN, vehicle registration and e-Naira wallets to provide targeted fuel subsidies to commercial transport operators.
He argues that this approach could reduce fraud and help lower transportation costs without returning to the old subsidy system.
Do you think this plan could work in Nigeria?

This is going to be worse than the former fuel subsidy system.

There was a year I had a liru disagreement with Alhaji and moved out, moved out like packed all belongings and left his house. I moved to my Aunt’s apartment around lawanson , Lola wasn’t in the picture then.
Alhaji was still in service, he called and did all he could but I straight up declined. He went to my parent house at Akerele and they told him I wasn’t there , Iya Arike hinted him that I must have moved in with my Aunt(same one at Lawanson)
He went to work that day, returned straight to Lawanson with Hilux, ( that man was so pompous) he greeted my Aunt and faced me directly
Him: Let today be the last day you’ll move out , do you think you’re getting younger.,Oya where are your stuff?
Me: Pointed to one corner, he called the driver to remove all my boxes.
Brethren, this man didn’t address my anger o, he ordered me, opened the truck door and in I went.
He treated me like a child that was picked up from boarding school.
It’s still paining till now 😩😩😩😩
