Seven Palestinian children were filmed handcuffed to one another inside a detention facility in the occupied West Bank, after being detained for throwing stones at settler vehicles. Rather than condemning their treatment, Israeli accounts circulated the footage with captions praising the officers for restraining the children, turning their humiliation into a spectacle of pride. Under Israeli occupation, even the detention and humiliation of Palestinian children become grounds for celebration.
