Jackson Market in Culver may be the best hidden gem of all of LA. Incredible community and melting pot. It’s what every third place should aspire to be.

It looks like the world is at the right boiling point for punk to have a renaissance moment, akin to late 70s/early 80s. Ready for the new Fugazi, Black Flag, Gang of Four, etc generation.

there's a reason it's ok again to say the word "moron"
Pete Hegseth reportedly wanted Dwight Eisenhower's globe in his office, but did not want to wait for historians to move it and went rogue. Hegseth's staff then attempted to move it themselves and broke the historic globe.

I miss this America. One where hope and not division rules. We need more Talaricos.
Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway. To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back. Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.

How did CA and LA end up with such inspiring choices for gov + mayor? For CA gov we have to pick from a yawn dem vs a temu maga arnold. And for LA mayor the choice is even worse (at least we avoided the temu trump). How did e.g. SF, NY, San Jose get good candidates?

JD Vance: It’s laughable to me the idea that Donald Trump has somehow been enriched by political office. I don’t think there’s evidence that the Trump family has become enriched by politics.

Pep Guardiola stands with the people of Palestine in a powerful message: “We see children in Gaza searching for their fathers among the rubble and suffering from hunger.. The lives of Palestinians are no less valuable than our lives, and we must not forget their suffering, for solidarity with Palestine cannot stop.” My manager, @PepTeam. 🩵

If you focus on the provocateurs (who may or may not have an interest to incite chaos) but not on the root causes of these protests (deep state corruption and collusion in Albania, collapsing education level in France, etc), you are staying in the surface and missing the point.
Protests are spreading across Europe. France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Greece and even Albania have seen or will see massive clashes these weeks. Expect many reasonable grievances to be exploited by the extremes and to degenerate into vicious urban guerrilla warfare.

The Supreme Court burns to the ground in Albania, Parliament and the Department of Education has been stormed, the Prime Minister is in hiding and the country is effectively in the hands of the rebels. Albania rejects blatant corruption and their country being sold.

It’s 2009 in America. Obama is president. Optimism and unity at generational highs. A wave of iconic startups is born: Uber, Airbnb, Stripe, Instagram, WhatsApp, Square, Coinbase, DoorDash, Figma, Snapchat. An entire generation is about to change the world. We can do it again.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
