i think there is growing disdain for JRPGs and RPGs in general as they’ve gotten more popular. i once saw a game advertise itself based on the fact that it had no RPG mechanics, which i think is hilarious

I remember when was 17 I was at a train platform doodling on my sketchbook when a lady came up to me and gave me a bookmark, gave me a thumbs up before quickly hopping onto a train and left. I never saw her again. On the bookmark she had written (translated from CN):

Memories may fade, but the emotions etched into them linger on. I don’t remember the face or voice of the person who told me I had a talent for drawing when I was in kindergarten, but I can still recall the feelings that brought me and the life goals I set as a result.

Astral Chain is the most slept on action game on Nintendo Switch. Do yourself a favor and play it! It sold over a million copies but it should have a much larger audience.
