I'm 19 and my app just hit 10k users and $10k in all-time revenue. We launched 1609sat 2 months ago and it's already at $5k MRR. Most of our growth came from organic content, so here's what I've learned about making content that actually brings revenue

would you sacrifice your branding for the revenue?

would you send 8 emails just to save one payment? one customer’s payment failed, so i reached out right away. he tried 13 more times. 14th try? finally went through. 8+ emails later, we got it done. if i hadn’t texted him after that first fail, he probably wouldn’t have tried again. sometimes retention is literally just giving a shit.

My app got +7,827 users in the last 30 days and hit $5k MRR. I'm 19. Most of it came from organic content: slideshows and short videos. Stop overcomplicating it. Just copy what we did 👇

5. Count signups, not views Some videos with way fewer views brought more signups than the viral ones. We track signups per video and make more of what converts.

6. Found a format that works? Spam it Post as much as you can in that format, and keep testing a few new ones on the side to find the next format that blows up. That's how we got ~10k Instagram followers in just a month.

3/ Don't judge your content by views A viral video doesn't always bring users. Sometimes one with way fewer views brings more signups. So for every video we check how many people actually signed up from it. Then we make more of what brings users, even if it doesn't go viral.

4/ Don't overthink quality, but don't ignore it You don't need cinematic shots. An iPhone camera is enough. Just make sure people can see you clearly and hear you well. Anything beyond that slows you down. And the less you post, the fewer chances you have to go viral.

2/ Post a lot of different formats, then double down on what works You can't predict what will take off, so we keep testing new stuff. Our first "Can [celebrity] get into Harvard in 60 seconds" videos did ~30k views, way above average. So we made more. The 4th one hit 558k.

1/ You don't need to reinvent the wheel If a reel format already went viral, it worked for a reason. So instead of inventing every idea from scratch, we take formats that already work and adapt them to our niche. The hard part is already figured out.
