This is one of the craziest ideas I've ever seen. He converted a drawing of a bird into a spectrogram (PNG -> Soundwave) then played it to a Starling who sung it back reproducing the PNG.
Using the birds brain as a hard drive with 2mbps read write speed.

Thrilled to announce that our paper is now finally out! 🎉We combine scRNAseq, 2p imaging, ephys, and behavior to understand the role of lateral septal Nts neurons in opioid withdrawal. Curious about the septum and addiction? Give it a read👇

Replying to @Lymphoma_Doc
Please forgive me, I was mercilessly ridiculed by an IRB at a very early age.

How do we stay motivated as we learn, such as when we study for a test? 📝😰
Our new paper, now on biorxiv, suggests that ramping neural activity in the frontal cortex maintains an extended motivational state to help us learn better! 🧵 1/8
