Happy 250th Birthday, America. 🇺🇸
Two hundred and fifty years ago, ordinary men and women did something extraordinary.
They left their homes. They kissed their families goodbye. They walked away from the certainty of comfort and into the uncertainty of war, believing that liberty was worth any sacrifice.
On July 4, 1776, fifty six courageous men signed the Declaration of Independence. They were not signing a ceremonial document. They were signing what many believed could become their own death warrants. They pledged to one another their Lives, their Fortunes, and their sacred Honor, knowing full well what they stood to lose.
The Declaration did more than announce America’s independence. It proclaimed a timeless truth: that our rights do not come from government. They come from our Creator. Government exists to secure those God given rights, not to grant them.
And it reminds us of something equally profound. When any government becomes destructive of those ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government that better secures their liberty and safety.
That is not a call to abandon our Republic. It is a reminder that self government demands self responsibility. Freedom survives only when citizens are informed, engaged, courageous, and willing to defend the constitutional principles entrusted to them.
As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, may we remember that liberty is never inherited automatically. Every generation must choose whether it will preserve it.
The price of freedom has always been eternal vigilance.
May God continue to bless the United States of America, and may we prove ourselves worthy of the incredible inheritance left to us by those who sacrificed everything so that we could live free.
