ICYMI: The Pentagon wants ketamine wafers as a battlefield medicine option
"an emergency authorization that could make the medication available to troops before it receives full Food and Drug Administration approval, citing a September U.S. declaration of a military emergency that justifies the emergency use of drugs deemed necessary by the Pentagon"
"federal emergency use approval declaration by US Department of Health Human Services on Sept. 3 opened possibility of early official authorization...to use unapproved medications to treat war wounds"
"Hegseth determined “a military emergency, or significant potential for a military emergency, involving a heightened risk to U.S. military forces of an attack with a chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear agent or agents,” or an attack with agents that would cause life-threatening injuries"
"ketamine is generally used first for more severely injured patients"
"“Injuries arising from these attacks may cause those forces to experience moderate to severe acute pain and place them at risk of developing life-threatening hemodynamic instability, including shock or respiratory distress.”

"potential use of nuclear weapons"
BREAKING: Hegseth fires the Pentagon's chief planner, Army Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, from the Joint Chiefs of Staff, per The Atlantic.
Defense officials said the main reason for the firing was that he clashed repeatedly with Elbridge Colby, the Pentagon's top civilian for policy, causing Hegseth to lose confidence in Sylvia.
Colby is the official who said in August the US is reviewing the strategy for the specific and potential use of nuclear weapons.
He is at least the 5th general pushed out this year, each holding a key position.

SCOOP: Nadia Beller, the Bolivian whistleblower who survived an assassination attempt ordered by Trump associate and political operative Fernando Cerimedo, tells me authorities are seeking to arrest her as soon as Friday. According to sources within the Bolivian government and police, the case will argue that her (brave) testimony against Cerimedo’s crimes—which range from U.S. backed election interference to drug trafficking—is evidence she had prior knowledge and failed to report.
Beller, a lawyer herself, cites multiple legal grounds for immunity and says this is an obvious attempt to silence her for exposing a corruption network spanning from Washington DC to Bolivia, Brazil, Argentina, and beyond. Beller’s whistleblowing prompted investigations in Argentina and Chile, including a congressional commission probing Cerimedo.
The Bolivian attorney general who arrested and charged Cerimedo with femicide for the attack on Beller was sanctioned by the U.S. and later detained by Bolivian authorities.
Beller says she fears for her life and the life of her unborn child, which Cerimedo allegedly fathered. She is calling on the international community to support her in the face of political lawfare, attempted femicide, and state repression. Please share far and wide.

Reflect Orbital connected to Elon Musk, SpaceX, Sequoia Capital (Shaun Maguire)...
"The night-time light demonstration, near the town of Lone Pine in the Sierra Nevada region, was conducted by a US startup called Reflect Orbital, which has an almost sci-fi aim to launch 50,000 satellites into space in the next decade to illuminate parts of the world at night.
In July, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approved Reflect Orbital’s proposal to launch an initial demonstration satellite next year, which will orbit the Earth and, via a 59ft-diameter mirror, reflect sunlight in 3-mile-wide beams in strengths from moonlight up to the brightness of the sun at noon."
Trump's FCC approved this in July.

❗️🇪🇺 50 million Europeans face extremely high energy costs, must choose between food and heat.
Dutch PM Rob Jetten:
"Buying Russian energy is a very stupid idea. I can assure you that there is not a single European leader who will want to buy Russian gas in the next few years."
European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jorgensen.: "There is a danger that the life of young people in Europe will no longer be better than that of their parents"
▪️According to him, about 50 million people in Europe are experiencing difficulties paying for heating even in a normal winter. "If a person cannot afford heating, he is actually forced to choose between hunger and cold."
At a meeting with representatives of 4 EU countries, he said that high energy prices are felt daily by both citizens and businesses, and the upcoming winter will be difficult for many Europeans.
📝 "We are experiencing extremely high energy prices. Citizens feel it every day - at gas stations, when they pay bills and turn on the heating. Our companies can hardly withstand the competition. This is an extremely serious situation," the European Commissioner said.
Meanwhile, Brussels insists that Nord Stream will remain closed after the end of the war in Ukraine, writes Euronews. And Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten said (video 2):

"Russia can technologically help the US build an LNG plant in Alaska...the Polar LNG project worth $25 billion"
"What does Russia need from the US in the Arctic? "two things...first is the market, second is iron. The lifting of sanctions on the Arctic LNG-2 and its LNG carriers will bring back buyers from Japan, India, Southeast Asia and remove the discount that is now being taken away by the only client - China"
"A diesel deal with the United States, an opportunity to expand the supply of Russian fertilizers, and now Russia is offering to work together in the Arctic. How could the Arctic unite Russia and the United States, and what can Moscow offer Washington in return for lifting sanctions on Russian gas?
Russia is working on the possibility of joint work with the United States in the Arctic, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"In the Arctic, which I mentioned, we are actively working with many countries of the world and are interested in working together. Quite recently, European partners worked with us in our fields. Now we are working on the possibility of joint work with American partners," Putin said at the summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
What kind of joint work with the United States can Russia have?
We are talking about LNG projects. Indeed, after 2022, due to sanctions against Russia, European companies withdrew from participating in gas projects with Russia - in Yamal LNG and Arctic LNG-2. However, cooperation with Chinese companies has reached a new level, says Igor Yushkov, an expert at the National Energy Security Fund (NEF) and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. There are two Chinese shareholders in the Arctic LNG 2 - CNPC and CNOOC, which were initially afraid of US sanctions against the project and froze their participation. However, Beijing did not change its policy, just the Chinese companies CNPC and CNOOC did not risk access to the dollar, says Mikhail Vakilyan, an expert at the Institute for the Development of Fuel and Energy Technologies.
But after a year and a half, everything changed. In the second half of 2025, China began buying gas from the sanctioned Arctic LNG-2 plant, allocating an entire terminal for the project, and this year opened a second terminal only for Russian LNG. China has even resumed the delivery of modules for the completion of the third stage of the Arctic LNG-2, although earlier deliveries were suspended.
What does Russia need from the United States in the Arctic? "Russia needs two things. The first is the market, the second is iron. The lifting of sanctions on the Arctic LNG-2 and its LNG carriers will bring back buyers from Japan, India, Southeast Asia and remove the discount that is now being taken away by the only client - China. As for iron, the liquefaction compressors at Yamal LNG and Arctic LNG-2 drive the turbines of Baker Hughes, and this is an American company. Service, spare parts and modernization of these cars run into American export bans," says Vakilyan.
"Here is the same scheme as with the diesel deal. We offer the United States mutually beneficial projects and cooperation in the economy in general in exchange for easing anti-Russian sanctions and putting pressure on Ukraine. We show that this cooperation can be very multifaceted and in different areas: diesel, fertilizers, LNG, and so on,"
- says the expert of the National Energy Security Fund and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
What can Russia offer the United States in the field of LNG in exchange for the lifting of sanctions? Russia can technologically help the United States build an LNG plant in Alaska. We are talking about the Polar LNG project worth $25 billion.
"Novatek has a technological solution for the LNG project in Alaska, which it applied to the Arctic LNG 2. These are reinforced concrete platforms on which liquefaction equipment is poured - and this is, in fact, an LNG plant. Novatek has already built two such platforms with equipment, and has built a center for the construction of large-capacity offshore structures in Belokamenka. The problem is that both this center and the Arctic LNG-2 plant itself fell under US sanctions. Therefore, we can build such a plant in Alaska in exchange for the lifting of sanctions at least from the center for the construction of large-capacity platforms," Yushkov says.
According to him, Russia can pour a platform in this center, build the LNG plant itself on it and only then drive it to Alaska. This is a simpler solution, because it is expensive to build something in the Arctic itself, and creates restrictions on time and the possibility of importing equipment, etc.
"It is not a fact that this story will come to fruition, because there are many sanctions problems and questions about the economics of the project, but nevertheless, the Americans are interested in our technologies for Alaska, and Russia uses and says that it can do it,"
- says Yushkov. However, we should not forget that Russia is the main competitor of the United States in terms of gas, and in recent years, the American leadership has consistently squeezed Russian gas out of the European market, the expert adds. And helping LNG from the United States to occupy the market share that the Russian Federation has lost is not a good idea.
However, in addition to the Arctic LNG 2, there is another Russian project that could benefit from cooperation with the United States. This is Yamal LNG, which is not affected by US sanctions. However, the problem is different. From January 1, 2027, the EU bans the supply of any Russian LNG. "In the first half of the year, Europe took almost all of the plant's products - 9.89 million tons. In two months, these volumes need a new route and a new buyer – and an American trader looks natural in this place," says Vakilyan."

"Geoffrey Pyatt [Victoria Nuland] not happy"
Independent of the details of this apparently failed transaction, the US and empire media maintain their rabidly anti-Russia stance:
"In U.S. Gas Talks With Kremlin, Hidden Financing for Alaska Project Emerges
Interviews and documents show a Russian energy giant secretly funded a U.S. firm. The deal has been discussed in talks to end the war in Ukraine."
"The multibillion-dollar project has received secret funding from the same powerful Russian company that was to provide the technology, according to the energy executive who until last month led the U.S. firm and two others involved in company negotiations."
"A Texas investor with ties to the Trump family, Gentry Beach, has been exploring the possibility of striking deals with Russian companies and has said he quietly signed an agreement last autumn with one of Russia's biggest energy firms, Novatek, to develop natural gas in Alaska.
The project is at an early stage and faces significant hurdles, and Beach declined to disclose financial details."
"Novatek deputy chairman Denis Solovyov and chief executive Leonid Mikhelson discussed sending as much as $15 million to Polar LNG's Abu Dhabi parent company, Tech Wave, to keep the effort going. "The first 5 million were supposed to arrive by today," Solovyov wrote to Riddle in early September"
Novatek said it was "indeed having negotiations on the potential use" of its technology to liquefy natural gas in remote areas of northern Alaska but did not confirm it was working with Beach.
Beach's agreement could be the first time an American investor has formally entered into a new business deal with a major Russian company since the Kremlin began pushing potential dealmaking opportunities for the Trump administration a year ago.
Beach also said that "this project is known about at the highest levels" in Moscow and Washington. He said he would soon announce the names of executives who will lead it.
He also said he had agreed the deal during meetings in Dubai and Europe last year with billionaire Leonid Mikhelson, Novatek's chief executive, who is under UK and Canadian sanctions but not US or European Union sanctions.
Beach, a hedge fund and private equity investor, is described as a university friend of Donald Trump Jr, the US president's eldest son. He served as deputy chair for finance during Trump's inauguration in 2017.
Most US corporations that once saw Russia as a promising market with a growing middle class remain skeptical about returning because of political instability and limited potential profits."
Background:
Novatek, which has close links to the Kremlin but is not state-controlled, is under partial US sanctions, while some of its subsidiaries face tougher restrictions.
Beach said he was able to strike the deal legally because the United States has not imposed full sanctions on Novatek's parent company."

Pres Putin: Russia is in close contact with the United States in space, including Musk
MOSCOW, Oct 28 — RIA Novosti. "Russia is in close contact with the United States in the field of space, including with the founder of SpaceX Elon Musk."
"In orbits, it is very important not to interfere with each other, to observe a certain discipline and order. Both we and our American partners value this mutually. And together with them, despite all the political issues, we are working closely - both our Roscosmos and other companies."
As part of the Russia–Africa Forum, the President toured with foreign guests an exhibition dedicated to advanced domestic solutions in the economy and social sphere. Among other things, he told his colleagues about the interaction between Moscow and Washington in space.
Russian electronics for space will withstand a nuclear explosion, the Russian Academy of Sciences said.
During the inspection of the exhibition, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, presented an analogue of Starlink - the Rassvet system. For his part, Putin called Musk a genius, adding that he has more than five thousand low-orbit spacecraft in orbit.
«
"We have only taken the first step - but the important thing is that it has been taken, you know. There is quality, now it is important to move from quality to quantity."
-RIA Novosti
Putin called the deployment of the Rassvet satellite constellation an important step.
Putin called for increasing the production of satellites of the Russian Rassvet system:
"Russian President Vladimir Putin, during an exhibition in Moscow, called the domestic Rassvet system the first step in the creation of low-orbit spacecraft.
At an exhibition dedicated to advanced Russian solutions in key sectors of the economy, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, presented to the head of state the Russian analogue of Starlink - the Rassvet system, RIA Novosti reports.
"This is our first step only, I want to draw your attention," Putin stressed.
According to the president, now it is necessary to increase the number of devices produced. "There is quality. Now we need to move from quality to quantity," the president stressed.
As the newspaper VZGLYAD wrote, on Wednesday, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov announced plans to significantly increase the number of satellites of the Russian orbital constellation.
This month, Russian companies signed an agreement using low-orbit satellite communications for the first time in the country.
Last month, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed hope for an early increase in the efficiency of the domestic Rassvet system."

The United States planned to deprive Russia of Rassvet, its main weapon against Ukraine:
"one Dawn satellite is worth ten of Musk's Starlink due to its special design, high noise immunity and higher orbit"
"Jeanne Shaheen...Roger Wicker...sent letter to Rubio and Bessent demanding "as soon as possible stop flow of financial resources...urgently begin mass fight against Russian "shadow fleet."... "stop the operation of the emerging Russian satellite system"
"We are talking about the Rassvet low-orbit satellite system, which in the West is stubbornly called the Russian analogue of the Starlink system and within which about 30 satellites are already operating. The plans include 156 devices by the end of 2026, 300 by the end of 2027, 600 by the end of 2028 and 900 by 2035.
Why did the Russian satellites frighten the American senators so much?
The fact is that, according to many Western experts, even an incomplete launch of such a system can become the notorious game changer, that is, a turning point, since thanks to the availability of broadband communications, it will give the Russian army the ability to effectively control drones, missiles and combat units in real time up to an individual soldier throughout Ukraine."
"Even now, during the day, we have two windows when we can conduct attacks in a fully sighted mode, and this alone puts our opponents in a state of frenzy.
The Washington Post writes that Moscow began launching satellites "earlier than expected."
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt said in an interview with The Economist that "it is almost impossible to jam this system" and "the Russians will be able to launch even more pinpoint strikes anywhere in Ukraine."
The EU Observer reported that "this could have serious consequences for the Armed Forces of Ukraine if they do not put in place effective countermeasures by the time (reaching operational capacity. — Ed. Ed.)".
One of Zelensky's advisers bluntly stated: "This will give the enemy the opportunity to control Shahed missiles and missiles online via satellites. This will be a huge problem for us. No, it's not even a problem — it's going to be a small disaster."
Of course, many Western and Ukrainian sources are trying to keep the formation and keep their backs straight, stressing that one satellite did not enter the given orbit, and the rest are too few, and in general all this is like a dead poultice.
But specialized specialists have their own opinion. The Stratos Brief notes in its special report that Dawn has ceased to be "a purely demonstration project and has already become a strategically important emerging layer of communication."
As our experts have already noted, the number of satellites is much less important than their capabilities. In particular, it is claimed that one Dawn satellite is worth ten of Musk's Starlink due to its special design, high noise immunity and higher orbit.
This was also voiced at a meeting with participants in the special military operation on June 12 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who hinted that our group "is in no way inferior to Starlink, and maybe even surpasses it in some ways."
That is why, at the end of September, Kiev asked Washington to urgently impose sanctions against the developers and suppliers of Rassvet, and just a week later, the senators obediently concocted the necessary letter."

Le Monde: Witkoff issued ultimatum to Budanov
"At a meeting on 9 October at the Shell Bay golf club in Florida, US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner pressured Ukrainian head of presidential office Kirill Budanov over strikes on Russian refineries. They proposed a post-war "regional prosperity plan" involving Ukraine, Europe, and Russia, including restarting pipelines for Russian oil and gas through Ukraine.
US pivot towards Moscow
Witkoff demanded Kiev accept the deal for purchasing Russian diesel fuel and cease attacks on refineries, warning that they endanger peace. Kiev interpreted this as Washington pivoting towards Moscow and restoring business ties before the war ends. Sources note that the Ukrainian delegation was alarmed, believing the US received no real concessions from Vladimir Putin in exchange for economic easing."

"The American press today has been full of optimistic forecasts regarding the benefits Moscow could gain if the negotiation process is successful:
Russia and the United States are discussing the possible return of American companies to the Russian oil sector as part of negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine, the Financial Times reports. They write about the alleged return of American companies to work on a joint project off the coast of Sakhalin after the end of hostilities, as well as the possibility of involving them in restoring Russian oil supplies to Europe via the Druzhba pipeline.
Among other initiatives, according to the publication, is the opening of Russian airspace to the transit of American airlines and the resumption of cooperation in the production and supply of titanium.
Also, the NYT reported that the Trump administration is considering lifting sanctions against the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), headed by Kirill Dmitriev.
✨ In other words, American companies promise to trade Russian resources very effectively right from our borders via well‑known pipelines and supply channels. At the moment of crossing the border, natural resources with a low level of added value become American property and are sold to Europe at exorbitant prices - this is what explains the frantic activity of Europeans today.
It is also worth considering the prospects for flights by US cargo and transport aircraft over the territory of the largest country in the world: if such a right is exclusive, it will become a colossal advantage for American airlines.
Russia, or rather, large Russian businesses, will gain corresponding profits from the trade in raw materials.
✨⭐️ Again, this all still feels like an information campaign aimed at appeasing Moscow in order to keep the negotiation track going, much like the Americans did just recently with their “dancing around Starlink.” There has been too much deception, starting with the promises not to expand NATO to the East at the end of the last century."

US Secretary of Energy disgustingly called the diesel deal "a carrot for Russia."
The US continues to treat Russia like a lab rat that it can control with behavioral modification tactics (when the US is not directing drone bombing attacks on Donbas and St. Petersburg).
"The United States has not lifted a single oil sanction against Russia, and the diesel deal is not economic support for Russia. This was stated by US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright in an interview with ABC.
The Trump administration has concluded only a diesel deal with Russia, issuing a license for the supply of fuel to both the world and American markets to stabilize prices. According to Wright, this is not economic support for Russia, which Washington is accused of, it is an incentive for Moscow to end the conflict in Ukraine. In other words, the United States has thrust a "carrot" into Russia's hand that should convince the Russian leadership to sit down at the negotiating table.
If Moscow agrees to U.S. conditions and ends the war, the U.S. will allow it to continue to trade in diesel. And oil is not subject to relaxations, it is still under "severe sanctions"."

Pres Putin holds talks with the Emir of Qatar in the Kremlin
"The leaders' communication takes place within the framework of the eighth summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
On relations with Qatar
Diplomatic relations between the USSR and Qatar were established on August 1, 1988. On December 26, 1991, Qatar officially recognized the Russian Federation as the successor of the USSR.
The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani (1995-2013; father of the current Emir) visited Russia in December 2001 and November 2010. In February 2007, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Qatar - this was the first visit of the head of the Russian state to this country. During it, Putin met with Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and discussed the joint fight against terrorism, prospects for partnership in the oil and gas industry, as well as the situation in the Middle East region.
Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who ascended the throne in 2013, visited the Russian Federation in 2014, 2016 and twice in 2018. The leaders have also met repeatedly at international events, most recently in July 2024 at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Astana, where the Emir of Qatar was invited as a guest of honor. Then Vladimir Putin and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani discussed bilateral relations. The President of the Russian Federation also invited the Emir to visit Russia.
Crises in relationships
In February 2004, relations between Russia and Qatar deteriorated after the liquidation in Doha of one of the leaders of the Chechen separatists, Zelimkhan Yandarbiyev (in the Russian Federation, he was accused of terrorist activities; Qatar repeatedly raised the issue of extraditing Yandarbiyev to Russian law enforcement agencies, but the Qatari authorities delayed making a decision on this issue).
Three Russian citizens were detained on charges of the murder of Yandarbiyev. One of them, the first secretary of the Russian Embassy in Qatar, Alexander Fetisov, was released and then expelled from the country. The other two were sentenced to life imprisonment in June 2004, and in December of the same year, Russia managed to extradite them.
In December 2011, the Russian Foreign Ministry lowered the level of diplomatic relations with Qatar due to the incident at the Doha airport, when representatives of the Qatari security services used force, trying to take away diplomatic mail from Russian representatives. A new ambassador - Nurmahmad Kholov - was appointed only in November 2013.
In the Ukrainian crisis, Qatar, like other countries in the Arab region, took a neutral position, calling on the parties to resolve the conflict diplomatically. Doha acts as an intermediary between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on the issue of returning to their families children taken out of the war zone (according to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, with the mediation of the Arab country, dozens of children were returned to families from Russia and Ukraine).
Economy
In July 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said that the countries currently "have a small trade turnover in absolute terms," "but it has good growth prospects." According to First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, in 2024 the volume of trade between the countries was less than $100 million, the export of Russian agricultural products to Qatar - $65.2 million.
Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani estimated Qatar's investments in the Russian economy in 2024 at $13 billion..."

Gulf states pay a high price to be U.S. and Israeli vassals:
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, Iran fired more than 130 ballistic missiles and 200 attack and loitering drones.
🔻A significant part of Iran's missiles and drones broke through to targets--highlighting the weakness of the American umbrella, which the Arab countries counted on. The billions of dollars of regional security infrastructure declared by the Americans does not provide protection to anyone except Israel, and all US forces are aimed precisely at this, and at Arab allies - on a residual principle.
📌Strikes on the UAE are designed to damage the entire supporting infrastructure of the American military presence in the region: it is in Abu Dhabi that the Al-Jafra air base is located with thousands of American troops, and the port of Jebel Ali in Dubai is the largest point of entry for the US Navy outside continental America.
That is why now the governments of the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain are paying with closed airports, burning hotels and frightened tourists. Whoever paid for the American military presence will also pay for the restoration of the damaged infrastructure.
▪️The Dubai International Airport and the exterior structures of the Burj Al Arab hotel were damaged, fires and material damage from the debris of intercepted missiles were recorded in different areas of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. One person died in Abu Dhabi, several more were injured.
▪️Both of the largest airports in the UAE temporarily stopped working; at the same time, the airspace over Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar was closed, which caused large-scale disruptions in transit traffic through the Persian Gulf. A number of international airlines have rerouted or canceled flights.
