Peace is built in the years that follow, when institutions keep talking despite disagreement, when people look at their neighbours with a little less suspicion, when leaders keep a door open even when there is little political reward for doing so,” said Kapetanović. RCC Secretary General @amer_kap called for renewed political determination to accelerate regional cooperation, advance the #CommonRegionalMarket, promote reconciliation and deliver on existing commitments at today’s #BerlinProcess Leaders’ Summit in #SvetiStefan. “The momentum of regional cooperation is not where it needs to be. Technical progress too often moves faster than political decisions, and decisions faster than implementation,” said Kapetanović. Over the past year, RCC, together with governments and regional and European partners, has worked on practical initiatives under the Berlin Process agenda, based on the #CommonRegionalMarket and #GreenAgenda for the Western Balkans, to facilitate investment, support start-ups and small businesses, strengthen links with European industry, advance digital connectivity and accelerate the region’s green transition. Western Balkans Public Voices’ Forum took place in #Budva today where RCC Secretary General @amer_kap participated in a session on communicating European integration and the role of Berlin Process together with @me4eu Minister @maidagorcevic and Filip Radunović of the GIZ Sustain Media Project, moderated by Vincenzo Le Voci, Secretary General of the Club of Venice. “Regional cooperation cannot be communicated only from the regional level, nor can European integration be explained only from Brussels. Regional organisations can tell the common story, and the EU can provide the broader perspective, but governments and their institutions need to bring that story home, in their own languages, through their own institutions and in a way that reflects local priorities and realities. Eighth Western Balkans Digital Summit opened today in #HercegNovi organised by @javnaupravamne, under the auspices of the @VladaCG, in partnership with the RCC, and the @europeancommission, and in cooperation with different regional and international organisations, and other partners.
