I worked with survivors of child sexual abuse for 40+ yrs.
The message that children deserve respect around physical touch is crucial.
If they learn it is ok to over ride their discomfort in one situation, how are they to know they can protest in another?

Like most people who were abused, it was by someone related to me. My dad started raping me at the age of 7 and didn't stop until I became pregnant at 13.
No, an uncomfortable hug is not the same as abuse, but teaching children their rights to their own body is valuable.
