Was cleaning up notes, then found one with the entire Llama3 arch on 1 page of maths! Cool bits:
1) Input embeds are a matrix sampling op like in randomized linalg
2) RoPE embeds are a rotation matrix mult & 2 hadamards (element wise mult)
3) I simplified Multihead Attn without the reshaping
4) SwiGLU and Attn residuals are similar with a down/output projection
Our @UnslothAI code base for Llama3 sadly isn't as elegant - github.com/unslothai/unsloth…, since we're squeezing every part to make finetuning 2x faster and use 70% less VRAM :)
